Welcome to 2010, gamers! The holidays are over and it's time to ring in a new year and a new decade that will be full of great new games. On the other hand, now that the holidays are over, the number of WiiWare and DSiWare games has fallen once again. But the real question is: are this week's titles any good?

This week's games are as follows:

On DSiWare this week, we have Animal Puzzle Adventure (Aksys Games, 1 player, 500 DSi Points), Trajectile (Nintendo, 1 player, 500 DSi Points), and Hell's Kitchen Vs. (Ludia, 1-2 players, 800 DSi Points). Animal Puzzle Adventure is a puzzle game where players must lead animals to their barns while avoiding a number of pitfalls. It's also ridiculously cute to watch. Trajectile is a Q-Games-developed title — renamed for North America — where players must destroy bricks a la Breakout, except with missiles that bounce around instead of a ball. Hell's Kitchen Vs. takes the retail DS version and shrinks it down a bit, pitting you against a fellow player as you have to perform challenges and not screw up while doing it.

On WiiWare, we've got Heron: Steam Machine (Triangle Studios, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points), Pub Darts (Big Blue Bubble, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points), and Fast Draw Showdown (Digital Leisure, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points). Heron: Steam Machine is a puzzle game where you, the operator of a rubber duck factory, must fit pipes to create a conveyor belt for steam for your machines. You know, so you can make rubber ducks. Pub Darts is, yep, a darts game for the Wii. How many TVs will this game break? Fast Draw Showdown takes those old-school arcade shooting games — you know, the ones with video — and brings them to the Wii for only $5. Not a bad deal and better than burning through quarters, if you ask me.

There's just one game on the Virtual Console this week and it's Final Fight 3 (Capcom, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) from the Super Nintendo. Final Fight 3 is the first game in the series that didn't come from the arcades first, but it's still your usual beat 'em up fun from Capcom. They don't make games like this anymore.

Final Fight 3 came out in December on the Japanese Virtual Console. It, along with Heron: Steam Machine, Pub Darts, and Fast Draw Showdown, is available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while Animal Puzzle Adventure, Trajectile and Hell's Kitchen Vs. are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

Check back next week for the latest round of digital releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!
