For a holiday weekend, Nintendo sure didn’t take time off on the Wii side of things. A new WiiWare title that excites me and a pretty cool Virtual Console title? I’ll take it! But DSiWare leaves perhaps a little to be desired this time around …
This week’s games are as follows:
On DSiWare, there’s House M.D. – Globetrotting (Legacy Interactive, 1 player, 800 DSi Points), B Team – Episode 1: Dust & Steel (Subdued Software, 1 player, 800 DSi Points) and Valet Parking 1989 (Zordix AB, 1 player, 500 DSi Points). House M.D. – Globetrotting is, yes, a House-themed game that has you playing as the curmudgeonly doctor and his staff to try and find cures for patients’ ailments. B Team – Episode 1: Dust & Steel is a little game that, yep, is supposed to be reminiscent of The A-Team, except without Mr. T. Finally, Valet Parking 1989 is a very odd game that simulates valet parking, but with a 1980s theme. Odd.
Meanwhile, WiiWare has but one lonely game this week in the form of FAST – Racing League (Shin’en, 1-4 players, 1,000 Wii Points) and a demo of Bit. Trip Void (Aksys Games, 1-4 players). FAST looks exactly like the kind of game I can get behind, a racing title in the same vein as F-Zero and Wipeout. Man, it’s been a while since we’ve had one on a Nintendo console …
The Virtual Console has a new game this week: Super Adventure Island (SNES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points. Playing as Master Higgins, it’s up to you to save your loved one, Tina, from a fate as a stone statue for all eternity. And you get to do it with a variety of weapons and a skateboard.
Super Adventure Island debuted two weeks ago on the PAL Virtual Console. It, along with FAST – Racing League and the demo, is available right now on the Wii Shop Channel, while House M.D. – Globetrotting, B Team – Episode 1: Dust & Steel and Valet Parking 1989 are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.
That’s it for this week’s list of DSiWare and WiiWare games. Until next time, happy gaming!Powered by Sidelines
