Last week, we got a very nice surprise from the Virtual Console, but since that service is now bi-weekly, we’re gonna have to hope this week’s regular releases are up to snuff. Wait, it’s a digital download version of a popular game that was released a few years ago and an interesting shoot ‘em up game? Well that doesn’t sound too bad, does it?

This week’s games are as follows:

On DSiWare, there’s On DSiWare, there’s Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (1st Playable Productions, 1-2 players, 800 DSi Points), 99Bullets (EnjoyUp Games, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) and 3D Twist & Match (Sanuk Games, 1 player, 200 DSi Points). Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is, as you might have guessed, a downloadable version of the first Puzzle Quest game, which was released a while back on the DS in cart form. 99Bullets is an interesting game, in which you have 99 lives, but each one is tied to a single bullet, meaning you have to choose your shots carefully. Finally, 3D Twist & Match is a puzzle title that has you rotating 3D images to be in the right spot.

Meanwhile, WiiWare has but one lonely game this week: Overflow (Digital Leisure, 1 player, 500 Wii Points). It’s a game where you have to use objects like funnels to guide fluids into the proper parts of machines. So it’s an interesting puzzle title, to say the least, and certainly an idea that hasn’t been done before.

The Virtual Console is silent this week. Come on, you got Chrono Trigger last week. You should totally be playing that right now!

Overflow is available right now on the Wii Shop Channel, while Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, 99Bullets and 3D Twist & Match are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

That’s it for this week’s list of DSiWare and WiiWare games. Until next time, happy gaming!
