I hope you bought a 3DS this week, folks, because Nintendos counting on you doing that, too, as they’ve released next to nothing on WiiWare and DSiWare this week. I could have said that I saw this coming, but I’d only be partially correct: DSiWare wasn’t going to have anything too big to mess with the 3DS’ launch, but apparently, they don’t want the Wii distracting from it either.

In short, this week’s releases amount to two demos and two very basic, very inexpensive titles for the DSi. Needless to say, this is gonna be a bit shorter than your average What’s New news post, folks.

This week’s games are as follows:

On DSiWare this week, we have Simply Solitaire (Engine Software, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) and Faceez: Monsters! (Neko Entertainment, 1 player, 200 DSi Points). Simply Solitaire , if you haven’t guessed, is a simple solitaire game. Meanwhile, Faceez: Monsters! lets you take pictures of your friends’ faces with the built-in DSi camera, then use those pictures to turn them into creepy monsters in other pictures. Exciting, isn’t it?

WiiWare has two demos this week. Yes, you read that right, two demos: Dart Rage (JV Games, 1-4 players) and Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 2 (Lexis Numerique, 1 player). For those of you who’ve forgot, Dart Rage is a dart game and Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 2 is an educational game for the young ones.

The Virtual Console is too intimidated by the 3DS, apparently. It didn’t bother to show up. That, or it’s busy playing the 3DS itself.

The two demos available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while Simply Solitaire and Faceez! Monsters are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

Check back next week for the latest round of digital releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!
