I'm not one to go around calling people "mental." I might mean it in a smart, intelligent, cerebral way, but some people would think that I was referring to some sort of impairment or handicap. See, you get into strange, weird, uncomfortable territory if you call people mental, and that's ground I'd rather not choose to tread.
No, I'd much rather leave the discussion of odd psychosis and brain issues to the trained professionals, people like Dr. Elizabeth Goode, Ph.D. She's the main character on the Starz Original series Head Case. I guess that only makes her a professional in a fictional world, but I think you get the idea. Awww, heck, why should I explain the series to you when I have the handy-dandy promotional copy that you can read:
Season One DVD in stores March 17, 2009 — Meet Dr. Elizabeth Goode, Ph. D (Alexandra Wentworth), a brash and judgmental therapist who uses her own unconventional methods of therapy to treat the elite of the entertainment, sports and music industries. Her unique brand of treating the celebrity psyche has made her the “it” therapist in Hollywood and NY with an undeniably thriving practice. Rosanna Arquette, Andy Dick, Ione Skye, Lea Thompson, Richard Kind, James Denton, David Alan Grier, Greg Grunberg, Monica Potter, Joel Madden, Christopher Lloyd, Jason Lewis, Jonathan Silverman, Jennifer Finnigan, Ahmet Zappa, Trudie Styler, Cindy Margolis and Jeff Goldblum guest star as themselves in this Starz Originals series that the New York Post hails as “unscripted, unusual, funny and real!”
All new additional episodes of this original half-hour comedy premiere Friday, March 20th at 10pm ET/PT on Starz.
See, didn't they say it nicely?
Anyway, you know me, I wouldn't bother telling you this and throwing out promotional copy if there weren't something in it for you. Usually there's something like the chance to win the complete first season of Head Case on DVD when I give you promotional copy, and that's exactly what we have here.
