Waiting for Guffman

Another one of those psuedo-documentaries, like Best in Show. It's kind of a cute movie.

Cory-in-the-closet has to direct the 150th anniversary play for his town, Blaine. Red, White and Blaine is what they call it. So the documentary takes you through the lives of the people in the play.

The young lady of the musical production works at the Dairy Queen. Her fast-food ambitions are funny. And the singing Dentist that impresses Cory so much is pretty good.

Cory, of course, it hilarious with his portrayal of the gay man.

But they are all excited about Guffman, who is a famous theater man from broadway coming to see their play. That just stirs up all kinds of feelings and reactions from everyone.

I think it's worth seeing, a light little video. You have to see Cory's little funky dance.

The movie is Best in Show, not Dog Show.

    Who is Blaine?

    Who is the young lady?

Okay, Sir Rodney of the Red Pen.

I think I fixed that up.

This movie came out in 1996, and is a great example of Christopher Guest's comedic genious.

Is it just me, or is this one of the worst movie reviews ever... Why not check out a real review of this movie: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0118111

The reviews on Amazon would probably be better too.

Oh, and name of the main character is Corky, not Cory.
