I wake up this morning with a song in my heart and a spring in my step. The birds are chirping, the sky is a lovely blue, and Veronica Mars may live to solve more crimes this fall. I was all prepared to talk to you this morning about how I watched the show last night and thought that this single stand-alone plot thing that they have been trying out for the last few episodes of this season worked. I was going to say that while I missed the long-term mystery, the self-contained plots weren’t as dry and shallow as I had worried. I was all set to go forth and deliver a positive message of hope.
Well, you know what they say — the networks help those who help themselves. Reuters and Hollywood Reporter this morning are reporting that the good folks at The CW have seen creator and executive producer Rob Thomas’s trailer for a revamped, reinvigorated Veronica Mars for next season and they like it. They really like it. Add to the mix the fact that Gilmore Girls and 7th Heaven aren’t coming back and that The CW has been unable to launch new scripted fare and all of the sudden it’s looking good for our favorite private eye.
Apparently the idea for season four is to fast-forward a few years and have Veronica at the FBI Academy (the rumor of this happening has been around for a while now). We all know that she is currently planning a summer internship there at the FBI, so to look ahead a few years and see her actually at the Academy and in-training to be the next Fox Mulder works logically. Kristen Bell will be 27 by the time season four goes into production, so she’s certainly old enough to play the part.

I'm going to be so angry if Studio 60 gets a pass and this one ends. Different networks I know but I'm a Sorkin fan and I think Mars deserves a chance far more than anything else on TV right now that's in danger of cancellation.

I love Veronica Mars, and I'm definitely thrilled that they'll have a fourth season. I'm just thinking that while the new idea might get them new fans, will it lose the ones they have now?
I'm not sure how I feel about Veronica Mars fast-forwarding to the future to be in the FBI Academy. It seems to me that it might lose its sassy teen feel to it, and evolve to a more professional FBI agent feel?
I have high hopes that it will be great though! Let's hope it is!

I really want this, along with Friday Night Lights to come back next year. and yes also Studio 60!

I really felt Season 1 and 2 were brilliant, even getting others to watch.
But this season has been one long disappointment. The lack ofcoherent story-arc going through the episodes just doesn't do it for me (and the ones they had were bad.)
However, I'm very excited at the prospect of the jump forward and even without it, would hope CW would give it another chance.
And honestly, it's the CW. They've got like, what, 4-5 shows worth watching? Two may be going off the air? It seems they'd want to stick with anything that gets even passable ratings.

It got cancelled, sadly, because the rating simply don't justify season 4.

lol guys, VM has been cancelled and season 4 will definitely not be happening in TV format. There have been rumblings about a comic or a movie but both are a long way off.

i cannot believe the cw. they bring 7th heaven back, but they cancle Veronica, who is the best thing to have ever hit the tv! What are they thinking??! They're idiots. They're losing viewers--i'm one of them. i mean, every damn show that is on th network gets messed up!!

You can't just end Veronica Mars like that. If there is some kind of problem with money and you can't affort to actually make the Season 4, then just let viewers know and we would be happy to help I'm sure. But you can not just cancel it. It's not right. Let people know what's goin on and if there is a problem then we will do what we can to help make it right. Veronica Mars is the best show ever and it needs to keep going. Please don't stop it now.

please let there be a forth season of Veronica Mars!! Kristen Bell ( Veronica Mars ) is my all time idol with Veronica Mars, I wanna be a p.i! I am only in gr.7 and she ahs inspired me to do so much stuff! It shows you wat high school and college is really like. You cant cancell it and i dont want it to change. This year i showed all my friends the first and second season ( since i have it on dvd ) and they loved it and cant wait to by the 3 rd season and watch the forth! You cant leave it where you ended it in the thid season because it leaves questions with no answers, so please atleats do a forth season! Do it for me and the other fans!! DONT GIVE IT UP NOW!!!
