TV Review: The War At Home - Comments Page 2

I have read reviews of FOX's The War At Home that chastise it for being borderline racist, homophobic, and sexist. It is indeed all those things and that doesn't concern me. There is one reason (and only one reason) why I think The War At Home is a terrible show...it's unfunny.…

    Guys, the show is funny, Kaylee Defer is smokin hot, and don't expect it to be cancelled anytime soon, a lot of people watch it

    This show is great, it shows what real american families are like these days. Thank god it's coming out with another season (sept 10th) just to prove people like you wrong.

    I agree that the show stinks. I love watching FOX on Sunday nights... except for this show. I've tried watching it a few times and it's just not funny. I hate when funny, innovative shows gets canceled... and crap like this stays on the air.

    This show was actually called "Grounded for Life" at one time, then they re-casted due to cutbacks.

    I can't take any of the scenes seriously w/ Rappaport and his daughter.. My god they look as if they could date.. If you look at the more successful show of this type, the fathers (Al Bundy, Homer, guy from AITF) are noticeably older and the generation gap is understandably funny... Not here though.. Rapps looks late 30's and daughter looks like she is in her early 20's.. Nobody has mentioned this on the blog, am I alone on this b/c may in fact be it's biggest flaw.
    Also, it's funny how noticable it is that writers/employees of this show are blogging on this site..

    Hi all, actually I find this show funny, because it shows the reality in very sarcastic way. For all of you, which cannot see the humor behind it, I am deeply sorry.

    You need to have above average intelligence to understand this show. It is great, but as you are limited, I can't help you.

    Yes, Croatian, you are right!

    This poor excuse of a blogger (no real ideas and sooo boring and predictible) has failed to see anything in it, and the majority of the commenters here as well. Americans have grown to be a very brain-washed nation. How can anyone in his right mind not see the humour in this show?

    It is understandable, though. When you live in such a joke of a country (no tradition, no depth, no respect for any other cultures or countries - just think: the "best" of the "Old World" went there and killed everyone), you have only your own good opinion about yourself. You are worthless, but you cannot stand to be told so.

    So, give them a little time: they will collapse under their own stupidity and bad karma. Or they already have and what we see now are just "Mad Max" type of ruins (mentally speaking, of course).

    @statikdog

    Soooo, I guess you let a lot of "funniness" up your "sphinctor"?

    (My God, you just kill English language!)
