I know, why don’t we have a recurring theme for The OC. Let’s make it something like this: Marissa befriends some lonely tortured soul of a boy. Being that she is the only friend he has, he gets the hots for her. And let’s throw in the confidence issues of any high school relationship and make this new friend cause rifts between Marissa and Ryan. Seems to be going on with Johnny now. Anyone remember Oliver? At least I don’t think Johnny is as psychotic as Oliver. Let us all thank the fates that be, or the writers anyway, that Marissa finally learned this concept of communication too. It might save her relationship with Ryan. Not that I would shed a tear if they broke up. But then, I never really liked Marissa other than when she hit Trey on the beach and shot him later.
Can I just say how glad I am that the show has Summer being a smart girl? I love her quick wit and sarcasm. But why oh why does a guy have to go get all insecure if his woman is smart? Wouldn’t her being smart make actually wanting to be with you mean even more? Yeah, that’s right Seth, she is smart and still wants to be with you. That means she thinks you are a really great catch. Plus, she saved Chrismukkah.
Sandy’s new work with The Newport Group shows promise, but it isn’t anything new for him. He has always been the character that tries to help the little guy and dole out second chances. Having Ryan join in on the fun is something I look forward to watching though. I love that the characters on The OC are relatively smart. Or at least they have some skills and aren’t complete airheads. Have I mentioned I have a thing for smart guys?
