TV Review: The Biggest Loser - Live Grand Finale - Page 2

Part of: The Biggest Loser

Brittany - eliminated week 12, began at 221 pounds and tonight weighed 164 (-67 pounds or 25.79 %).

Jay - eliminated week 14, began at 293 pounds and tonight weighed 190 (-103 pounds or 35.15%).

Paul - eliminated week 8, was ill and could not attend the finale.

Mark - eliminated week 9 and again in week 15, began at 285 pounds and tonight weighed 156 (-129 pounds or 45.26%).

Bernie - eliminated week 10, began at 283 pounds and tonight weighed 153 (-130 pounds or 45.94%). He began the show by saying, "We've all won just by being here and having worked on our issues."

Bernie won the $100,000 prize!

The final three were up for the $250,000 prize and the title of "The Biggest Loser."

Roger began the competition at 363 pounds. Tonight he weighed 199 pounds for a total weight loss of 164 pounds or 45.18%.

Kelli began the competition at 271 pounds. Tonight she weighed 162 pounds for a total weight loss of 109 pounds or 40.22%.

Ali began the competition at 234 pounds. Tonight she weighed 122 pounds for a total weight loss of 112 pounds or 47.86%.

Ali won the title, the money and is the first female Biggest Loser.

While I have frequently ranted and raved about the training methods, the Temptation Rounds, the challenges and the workouts, I watched the finale with awe. These 20 people changed their lives in 16 short weeks and will likely live a longer, healthier life because of The Biggest Loser.

I am so proud of each of their accomplishments!!

A quote from Ali that sums up so many of the contestants' and the viewers' feelings: "Have you ever had a dream so big and so unreal and then all of a sudden it was right there?"

For all of the contestants, the answer is, "Yes!"

I watched the whole season with my wife (sometimes eating ice cream in front of the TV while we're at it). But I think this season's Biggest Loser should be retroactively re-titled...

    "The Crying Game."
