Week 14 of The Biggest Loser was taped in Sydney, Australia. Each of the five remaining contestants were thrilled to go to the site of Biggest Loser - Australia where they discovered that their Aussie counterparts live in the palatial lap of luxury.
This week, contestants took part in an Aboriginal smoking ceremony. The ceremony consisted of being covered in smoke from burning leaves in order "to get rid of all your troubles and enjoy your new beginning." Roger, with his southern accent, said, "One of us is gonna have to leave Australia. I just hope I got the good whiff of lucky smoke." I laughed out loud.
Also this week, Mark began plotting against Roger, his fiercest competitor. Of the three remaining Blue Team members, Mark, Roger, and Jay, there appeared to be some awareness (finally) that their solidarity was lost when they voted Dan off last week.
Of the Black team, Ali and Kelli are the remaining contestants. Clearly, Ali still has some body image issues that I hope someone will help her with. Her arms looked absolutely beautiful, with muscles showing and no fat, but she still exhibited concern over wearing a sleeveless shirt. Her weight was most recently down to 146 pounds. I hope she soon realizes how beautiful she looks. Kelli has stopped crying so much and I have started rooting for her to win.
One of the tasks this week was for the contestants to climb Sydney Harbour Bridge in order to find out that their real challenge was going to be a triathlon. They swam 300 meters, then rode bicycles, then ran up stairs to the top of a very tall building.
Mark won, but waited for Ali to catch up and let her ride him piggyback-style across the finish line. I didn't know he had it in him to be that generous. They won a plane ride, a brunch, and a phone call to their loved ones.
The Blue Team received a yoga workout from Hades. However, in the final weigh-in, both Jay and Mark had each gained one pound. Roger lost two pounds. Ali lost three pounds and Kelli lost one pound.
The teams got together and all voted Jay off. Mark cried a lot during this episode. Again.
All the contestants look healthy. As trainer Bob said, "This doesn't even look like a group of people competing for the The Biggest Loser." He is absolutely right. They have all come so far and look fantastic!
