TV Review: That '70s Show Series Finale - "Love of My Life" and "That '70s Finale" - Page 2

Part of: TV Viewer's Diary

While the two discuss the memories of the tower, old pal Kelso arrives. The trio say that the best way to end the decade is to jump off the tower, and in true fashion of the show, Kelso is suckered into being the only guy to jump.

Back at the Forman house, Donna shows up, to the surprise of Hyde. She decided she wanted to say goodbye to Eric, just then, the Vista Cruiser pulls up. Everyone is expecting Eric to get out, but it's only Red saying that, in true dumbass fashion, Eric missed his flight. Back in the basement, Hyde and Kelso catch up with each other, with the usual physicality. While, over at the water tower, Fez and Jackie finally succeed in that all-important first kiss.

Red and Kitty are in the kitchen, when Red is presented with the Packers season tickets that Hyde bought as enticement to stay. Red doesn't want to accept, until Kitty admits her desire to stay. Together they decide to stay in Point Place.

The scene shifts to the night, midnight is approaching, and the gang is enjoying the party. Kitty even asks if anyone had seen Laurie, after she goes to the other kids saying what she has liked about them over the years. Donna needs some air and heads outside.

Donna reminisces about her relationship with Eric, then she hears Eric from off-screen. Eric makes his return, giving a heartfelt speech to Donna about when he left and the time in-between. Could this be the reignition of their heat? Who knows?

This leads into their final circle, as the time draws near midnight. We hear Kitty call them up for the final countdown. The gang runs up the stairs, the last one up has to call Red a dumbass. The loser? Kelso, who puts on his Packers dumb helmet and sulks upstairs as the episode ends.

This was a good end to the series. Would I have liked some more? Of course. I would have liked to see more of the impact that Eric and Kelso's return would have. I was glad that the episode had none of Randy in it, an unnecessary character.

In the end, I enjoyed this series, probably more than I should have. It excelled in its dumb comedy and teen soap grounding, and it worked. A show that will live on in syndication and DVD.

I thought the finale was pretty lame.I don't know, but it just lacked the luster that I was hoping for. But it was definitely time for the show to end. And a new decade was a good reason to do it.

I loved that 70s show! My favorite character was definitly Fez! Any show that has a non-american saying the word Whore over and over again is just pure comedy! And Jackie...wow! She is exactly what most girls are this day in age. But everyone has a special and unique personality which they brought to the 6 million fan base show each week. Hopefully, this will not be the end of the 70s as we know it.

I wonder if a succesful spin off could be achieved by this show maybe sumthing about the gangs futur. idk. but my least fav character would definatly be randy. he wasnt funny he looked to goofy(not that eric wasnt) and he was just not good for the show. The season fanale would have been much better if kelso had lit the gigantic firework off in the house and got a foot up the ass. Wich leads me to another question. Why didnt we see any foots up asses? or red knock sumone out with a crowbar or sumthing u know wut i mean? but i do love this show and am sad that it ended. also the fact that the ending wasnt that great. But i still have hope deep down that they will make JUST ONE MORE EPISODE!

fuck you guys, I liked Randy, I thought it was hillarius when he convinced the gang to steel fatso the clown. yea,he could never replace erik, but he wasn't supposed to, he was there to try and help Donna move on when Erik broke up with her after he left for Africa.yea he looked goofy but he hellped the gang have some fun times too. Man you guys need to learn to follow the show better.

I watched that 70 ' s show in the beginning , but frankly lost interest . I t got a little old with Hyde' s mean spiritedness and Fez' s needyness .I caught up in reruns. I found that most people miss Donna ' s behavior in the finale and concentrate too much on her statements about leaving .They get back together. She wouldn ' t have hung around if the spark wasn 't still there .

Randy was a horrible replacement. The show went off the wagon and the stories looked like they just werent trying anymore. The stripper was the most annoying part of the whole thing. Jackie and fez getting together. Horrible. It seems that shows dont know how to end it so they mess up.
