With the reduction in survivors to this final group of seven, the show is starting to be more about politics and maneuvering. The directors provide a long recap of the prior week's show and then a few minutes of infrared footage of the Survivor cast immediately following the tribal council. But there isn't much there, and it seems to me that we actually see more of "what goes on" in the 15 second commercial previews played throughout the week. Sad and shallow directing, in my opinion.
Maybe I'm just tired of the whole affair, and can't help seeing this as the last time I'll watch this program. There is none of the energy or intrigue that Survivor used to have, even two seasons ago. Perhaps it's the cast itself, or Stephenie, or the setting. Whatever it is, it's not a good thing.
Back to the show: What we do see through the darkened lens is a confused Judd wondering what the hell just happened, and Gary working the crowd. Then, XAKÚM (sha-koom!) passes another night to the tortured yelps of Howler and The Monkeys.
(Stephenie and Bobby-Jon not shown as they were surprise additions to the cast)

The next morning starts out with Gary chatting up Lydia, and Judd "eavesdropping" on their conversation. (This is the first time in the evening when I feel like channel surfing.) There are at least two video cameras running, one showing Judd in the shelter, but Gary and Lydia don't know that Judd is awake? Give me a break!
The rest of the morning is more of this unbelievable crap, then it's on to reward challenge.
Reward Challenge
A Q&A on Mayan culture. This was a total waste of time, boring, and infantile. Cindy wins and takes Rafe with her on a tropical spa/feast type setting. Hot spring bathing, great looking kabobs, and massages by sweet looking native girls.
Note to self: Get a life.
I'm sorry, this week's show sucked so bad that I have trouble wrapping my brain around the details. The best part of the show was watching Cindy get a massage with the sides of her boobs digitally blurred out. Nothing like the shots of Ashley (last season) running in slo-mo wearing a halter top, but hey, you takes what you gets.

Stephanie was amazing. Every time I think I am immune to her bitchiness, she surpasses even that level. She has had three reward meals and so Lydia, who has had none, knocks her out of the reward challenge first. Stephanie is furious because Gary has also had three reward meals. So tie goes in Steph's favor and she has a right to bitch when Lydia doesn't know that? They head back to camp and Steph "sets them straight" right away. Intentionally bitchy.
It looked like Gary really thought exposing Judd's "lie" at tribal council would swing the votes. By tribal council, it's too late.
Gary was the sole remaining reason to watch this show. I am sorry he is gone.

THAT is the stone cold truth, Justene. No reason left at all. Shallow personalities mostly, and really poor directing.
The king is dead.
Stay tuned for the funeral.

I used to love Steph! Now she acts like the Queen Bee, and has turned into a real bitch! I feel sorry for Lydia. She gives her all, and trys to very hard. I also like Danni. Rafe is okay. But the others, especially Steph, really turn me off.
