TV Review: Rock the Cradle - Week 3

MTV's new reality series Rock the Cradle pits the children of superstar musicians against one another to determine who has what it takes to be the next rock star.
The nine original celebrity offspring featured on Rock the Cradle were:

  • Olivia Newton-John's daughter, Chloe Rose Lattanzi
  • Kenny Loggins' son, Crosby Loggins
  • Joe Walsh's (The Eagles) daughter, Lucy Walsh
  • Al B. Sure's son, Lil Al B Sure
  • Dee Snider's (Twisted Sister) son, Jesse Blaze Snider
  • Tom Johnston's (Doobie Brothers) daughter, Lara Johnston
  • MC Hammer's daughter, Akeiba Burrell Hammer
  • Bobby Brown's son, Landon Brown

Jesse Money was voted off after Week 1. Akeiba Hammer was voted off after week 2.

Again, it seems inhumane to make the contestant stand through all the others' performances and have prepared a song for the current week only to be told she was eliminated right before she was to perform.

This week, the contestants had to sing one of their parents' songs and "make it their own." The two performers who earn the fewest votes will be eliminated next week.

Crosby Loggins sang "I'm Alright." He did a wonderful job and seemed to enjoy performing tonight. He does have the talent to have a successful career in music. In response to Snider's teasing that he would "rock the cradle to sleep," he said, "I don't come in leather to rehearsal. It's hot outside!" Crosby is a class act.

Jesse Blaze Snider sang, "We're Not Gonna Take It." He remains one of the contestants with the weakest voices but is able to rock the house and win immunity through his performance. He said, "Crosby thinks it's all about the talent and it's all about the music. I think it's all about everything." If music were about the tan, the abs and the attitude, then Jesse would win this hands down.

Chloe Lattanzi sang "I Honestly Love You." This young woman has the capability to sing and rearranged this song to make it slightly edgy and hard. I think her whiskey voice is very much suited to the way she sang this song. She finally received high scores from the judges. Belinda Carlisle gave her a perfect 10.

After your report (very good, by the way) there is a list of recent CD's by the parents. Where is Kenny Loggins latest CD-How About Now? Or for that matter Crosby's-We All Go Home? Kenny is still out there working his butt off. I never see these other guys playing anywhere. Are they play Vegas Lounges or Holiday Inns? Or just trying to manage there slimly talented kids. CROSBY ROCKS!!!!!!!

Jesse Blaze Snider did a live Talk Shoe web call with 40 fans. He combined audio interviews with fans, combined with real-time text chat. TalkShoe is free and completely web-based. There is no software to download. Check out Jesse's next show this Sunday night!

Jesse Blade Snider took a big risk covering his dad's hit " We're not gonna take it" but it paid off. However I think that Crosby Loggins is the only one with talent, what do you think?

As I stated here in the comment section, I also think Crosby is the only true talent but I doubt he will win.
