Crosby Loggins sang Gavin DeGraw's "I Don't Want To Be." He can sing very well and he can play guitar. Last week his stage presence was flat so he and his dad Kenny Loggins worked on it this week and it really showed. Crosby stands far above his competition, in my humble opinion.
Landon Brown sang "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. Landon has the ability to play to the audience and is very sexy, but the man just does not sing well. I think his prominently displayed six-pack blinds the audience. It is difficult to sing like Stevie, so perhaps he should choose songs that are in his range and not so challenging to sing. Still, the judges scored him high.
Lil Al B Sure was off-key last week but America voted to keep him on. He sang Maxwell's "This Woman's Worth" which is very difficult to sing. His pitch and stage presence were variable. His father Al B. Sure chose the song to show off his son's range. Unfortunately, this backfired on Lil Al B.
Lucy Walsh's father, Joe Walsh, chose for her to sing "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper. She won the highest judges' score last week and therefore had immunity. She was not as strong with this song as she was last week. Belinda Carlisle said it best when she said, "This song did not showcase your voice."
At this juncture, Jesse Money was told that she had been voted off. Chloe Lattanzi began crying due to the tortuous way they meted out this punishment.
Chloe Lattanzi sang "I Hate Everything About You" by Three Days Grace. I think she rocked this song with her unusual voice and her performance. The judges did not care for this performance.
The judges are: Belinda Carlisle of the Go-Go's; Jamie King, the stage presence judge; June Ambrose, the style/image judge; and Larry Rudolph, the overall performance judge. The host is Ryan Devlin.
The viewing audience must now call, go to the website or text in to vote for whom they want to stay. Jesse Blaze Snider is exempt from being voted off.
Rock the Cradle is produced by FreemantleMedia North America, with George Moll, David Goffin and Larry Rudolph serving as executive producers.

I'm involved with the show and think MTV did a solid job in selecting the contestants. In fact, most of them are actively touring and/or recording. I think Akeiba Hammer will do very well in the competition, she just need to be in more control over her voice.

In future episodes then, I do hope they will choose songs that can showcase their voices rather than what we've heard so far.

I agree with you, it seems like some the parents don't really know the vocal abilities of their kids. What do you think of the contestants and do you think any of them have a leg up on the competition?

For what my opinion is worth:
I think that Chloe has an unusual voice that could seriously rock if she chose a song suitable for her sexy, whiskey voice.
Crosby Loggins is my favorite since he clearly has vocals and instrumental talent. He probably won't win because he doesn't "rock" the crowd and has unknown abdominal muscles.....
Those are my contenders but I am not a mainstream listener. I always thought Bruce "The Boss" had questionable vocal ability but not even I can deny his "rockability." In sum, while I go for vocals over stunning abs or rocking the crowd, my choices will likely be eliminated.....

I really like Jeese Blaze's performance I am willing to bet he tajes the whole competition. After all, he is really the only one is "rock" ing the cradle.

Yes, unfortunately, I agree with your prediction. He won immunity last night....Again. And, while I truly don't care who wins, his "confidence" is turning into rude, boorish, and mean comments about his fellow contestants. For that alone I'd like to see him eliminated. But I also believe he will win....
