TV Review: Rock Star: Supernova Gives Phil the Head Jerk to Go Home

Rock Star: Supernova week four finds Storm scoring the encore spot, no surprise with her completely compelling performance including moshing and rocker surfing! It was a great move and showed off her dramatic, daring and impulsive side. She continues to do the crazy horse eyeball-rolling look that I'm guessing she uses in her act. I find it a little repetitive.

Patrice hit the bottom three, had to save her tush with Radiohead's "My Iron Lung". I have to say, Patrice did a good job, and she has a big voice. The tongue foreplay bit with Lukas during her bottom three song, did not work for me. This week Zayra hit bottom three again, and in my ever not so humble opinion I think Supernova may not be her gig. Man, she performed K's Choice, "Not an Addict" and superlatively demonstrated she is not run of the mill — Zayra is an artist. She may be too alternative rock for what this band wants to do.

Bottom three this week, Patrice Pike, Zayra Alvarez, and Phil Ritchie. Phil finally head jerks his way home.

Lukas Rossi is still the obvious best fit for the numero uno spot. This guy is such a natural born killer. The guys in Supernova were loving his performance. Lukas completely 'gets it'.

Dilana knows what it takes, but I'm seeing a weakness. I still place her this week in the number two spot based on her strengths in the past weeks.

Storm rocked the house in a new way, literally throwing herself into the fray. She played Mosh Pit Momma quite effectively and scored the encore.

Dana Andrews moves up in the rankings this week. She began this competition fresh of face, but is learning in leaps in bounds. She said that she is done being a student in the behind the scenes discussions, and Dave questioned her remark, curious to know if she thought she had all the answers yet. Dana provided clarification by stating she was beginning to learn more from the group when they kept their mouths shut. She appeared under scrutiny and almost under attack by the others. I think they're now seeing that she poses a distinct threat. Dana has a great voice and is learning how to use it towards what Supernova wants to hear and see. My "dark horse" gave a dark rocker performance this week that worked.

I agree with your picks. Storm really made an impression this week. She was great. But, I still think Lukas and Dilana are the top two. They just have "IT", you know.

Dude, i totally disagree with putting Lucas in front of Dilana. Dilana performs better, has a better vocal range, and simply put she is hypnotizing. I am not sure if Lucas can actually sing. The rock-n-roll growl was great in the day. But super novas music seems to be heading away form the growl. When and if Lucas sings I may reevaluate. Dilana will put the group in the public eye, Lucas will simply be a young guy fronting old rockers as happened with Judas Priest for a while. Tommy and the crew are business men after all.

Storm has the energy of a real rockstar,,,whenever she's on stage everyone is listening to every words that flown to her gorgeous voice,,,but still i cant imagine her as the lead singer for the dynamic SUPERNOVA,,,shes great and all but i think they would not pick her,,,Love you Storm!

It's true Dilana, is hypnotizing and brilliant in terms of delivering what the guys are looking for in a frontman, but Lukas has that 'it' quality. I think this next week he needs to go in a different direction and sing, not rock so hard - if he doesn't change it up, he may start getting stale.

Storm Large is gorgeous, but I too have a challenging time seeing her front them - she's more suited to what she's doing with her current band. This show will hopefully provide her with the exposure she needs to get further ahead.

I also really can appreciate what I see in Dana Andrews. She has a fabulous voice, is learning in exponential leaps to work what she has to suit Supernova. I hope this week she can bring even more to the forefront. I see a tremendous amount of potential in this gal. I think the rest in the group of contestants may be seeing she's got something too.

Patrice kicked arse....her rendition of "My Iron Lung" to save her butt was outstanding...Give her a chance, I think you will be very suprised as to what she can do..that girl has the voice to carry a band....Im glad Phil has gone, his eyes and head thing were putting me off my lunch...lol

darkangel, I agree, Patrice was very impressive with "My Iron Lung". Third way into the song I thought, 'gal you just saved your seat'. Really good comeback.

I just don't see her fronting the band, but she has a huge voice and deserves to go farther in her career.

If Dilana doesn't win this thing there is something terribly wrong in the world we live in.
Her stage presence and incredible voice put her head and shoulders above all the other competiters.
With her, Supernova has an actual chance of being something more than just a flash in the pan

    i think Zayra's got a great voice.
she's the only one truely unique.
her kind of voice is rare.
the only voice i can relate to hers is of from the band Cranberries.
anyways Jill's performance of the song by the band heart was Mind-Blowing.
anyways i think the best among the ten left now is Magny or even Dillana.
and the worst among them is Lucas.
    he's horrible.

    i totally disagree.
Lukas is the worst among all the ten left and i dont know whyy he's kept no1 in this rubbish list.
anyways Dillana is good- very good actually.
    Magny's got a great voice.
Patrice is also good but i dont know why she's been in the bottom three for the past 2 weeks.
Jill almost made it too tough for her.
Dispite evryone even the participants hating Zayira, she's still there.
    and she should be.
she's great and every time she gets on the stage we dont now what to expect.
    all the same she's great.
and i think she should kick all the rest asses.
well her performance of the song "i m not an addict" was so addictive.

so i guess Supernova should for atlest one episode let the participants sing the song of there choice and maybe then evryone would get a chance to Glorify.

all in all i guess it's time to kick Lukas- stuart little out.
    god his voice blaaaaaaaaaa.
he cant even do high pitch nor slow rock.
    why's he even there.

The reason I selected Lukas as front runner for the first several weeks was his ability to absolutely nail what the Supernova guys are after. Now, I'm sinking him in the rankings as is fitting because of his lack of adaptibility and resistance to changes. He's getting stuck into a pattern and too rote for interest.

IF you have followed me fron day one I liked Zayra and had her listed towards the top tier. She is freaking original, brave, fearless as I said. She could do alot for the guys, but I don't know if they are ready for her....I think they are thinking about it and considering how it would be to follow her; she is a leader not a follower as evidenced. She has had a few rocking performances, landed in bottom three several times but she survives. I am in her court. I would have liked to see Dana Andrews a bit more; she too has potential in that she is intelligent enough to grow. Zarya's strength lies within her already developed individuality.

    That chica can rock.
