TV Review: House - "Frozen" - Page 3

Another enjoyable scene follows. House is at home, with a fire roaring in the fireplace, a handy bottle of bourbon on the table and his laptop on, where he instructs Cate to get naked and to position her camera so that he can examine her for a suitable lymph node to biopsy. Cate objects to getting naked for House in his apartment, but he reminds her that she is not really in his apartment, but half a world away. Cate bargains with him, telling him that she will get naked after he shows her around the place. He moves the camera around and Cate analyzes him from the objects she sees: lots of books, probably all non-fiction; no photos of family and friends, and a bottle to help with insomnia.

House does not like being analyzed and chides her, saying that now she will try to fix him. Cate denies that he needs fixing, and the spark is struck. She gets naked, except for her socks, in a kind of virtual striptease and they begin the examination in a flirtatious manner. House even cues the computer to play “Let’s Get It On”, showing that perhaps he is too used to playing this kind of webcam sex game. The game ends soon enough, when Cate’s probing fingers find a swollen lymph node in her abdomen.

The fact that House likes Cate is not lost on Foreman or Wilson. Foreman notes that House is letting Cate take part in the differential and Wilson explains to him that it is because House likes Cate. She is the perfect woman for him: she goes to the end of the earth for her job, and is therefore unavailable for romance. Wilson also notes that House calls Cate by her first name, and asked her if she was alright during the biopsy. Wilson suspects that they had sex, which House points out is impossible given the distance. Wilson does correctly deduce that they shared some level of intimacy, which of course they did via computer the night before. It makes me wonder if guys in real life are so attuned to each other.

I am a fan of House and I am also a member of the Old Antarctic Explorers Association (OAEA)and we have 1300 members. Many of us watched the episode of House because of our own Antarctic Experience. Many of us are also in our 60, 70s, and 80s. Interesting to note that the Weather Channel is airing reruns this week of the real South Pole doctors breast cabcer illness that required consultation by satellite and the plumber who assisted with her breast biopsy.

I loved "Frozen" main reason was less sights of the newbies. I loved Cate in this episode but don't think she should return..there has been rumors on it through but house has too many love interests on ths show already and there is way too many people on the show already. I really don't want to see a sappy soap opera I have had enough of that sort of stuff already. She seems to be a forgettable character though because she seemed too perfect. I feel very bad for house though.
