From the start, we sense the chemistry between House and Cate. Not only is she beautiful, but she is smart, courageous, and has the ability to stand up to House’s bullying and cutting remarks. After refusing a dangerous method of removing a kidney stone with the geological tools used at the drilling station, she ignores House’s suggestion that she start treatment for the stone with an intravenous medicine. Cate tells House that she will not use up her sparse store of medical supplies for a possible diagnosis on herself, when she would rather save it for her patients who have definitive needs. House finds her self-sacrificing ways to be annoying, yet he watches with admiration as she treats herself, first by re-inflating her own collapsed lung with a syringe and then by taking full body x-rays and sending them to the hospital, even when faced with the prospect of having cancer.
House brings Cate’s x-rays to Wilson to check for cancer. I like to watch House/Wilson scenes for the always pleasurable glimpse into the nature of their friendship. We know that House respects Wilson on a professional level, bringing him into the case as soon as cancer is suspected. We also know that Wilson likes to psychoanalyze House, telling him that the reason he finds Cate annoying is because she is a psychiatrist – a professional whose services House is sorely in need of.
The most surprising and enjoyable aspect of this particular House/Wilson interaction is the level of intimacy in their friendship on display. Their banter is always amusing and Wilson can hold his own in a verbal sparring match with House. House is so attuned to Wilson that when Wilson uncharacteristically backs off after House suggests that Cate biopsy a lymph node herself for a definitive cancer diagnosis, House suspects that there is something else going on. House notes the lack of argument and the shade of Wilson’s shirt and deduces that he is happy and that he is dating someone. Some could argue that House is simply a keen observer to make such a logical assumption, but I prefer to think that it is because he knows his friend very well.

I am a fan of House and I am also a member of the Old Antarctic Explorers Association (OAEA)and we have 1300 members. Many of us watched the episode of House because of our own Antarctic Experience. Many of us are also in our 60, 70s, and 80s. Interesting to note that the Weather Channel is airing reruns this week of the real South Pole doctors breast cabcer illness that required consultation by satellite and the plumber who assisted with her breast biopsy.

I loved "Frozen" main reason was less sights of the newbies. I loved Cate in this episode but don't think she should return..there has been rumors on it through but house has too many love interests on ths show already and there is way too many people on the show already. I really don't want to see a sappy soap opera I have had enough of that sort of stuff already. She seems to be a forgettable character though because she seemed too perfect. I feel very bad for house though.
