These plot details are not confirmed.
As of yet, all that has been "revealed" is that Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad, and Taylor are organzing a talent show at the local country and golf club to which Sharpay, Ryan, and their family belongs to and where Troy is a life guard as a summer job. The producer for High School Musical reported to a recent online newspaper that the plot is currently being edited and has not been finalized as of yet.
"Currently we are in the process of making the final changes to make High School Musical, the sequel, even better than the first."
Jealous of the attention Troy and Gabriella's newfound talents have received, Ryan and Sharpay set out to restore the "natural balance" of life. Their plan: break up Troy and Gabriella so that they won't be in the spotlight. To do that, Sharpay fakes drowning at the pool, which means life guard Troy has to give Sharpay mouth to mouth. At the same time, Ryan covinces Gabriella that Troy is cheating on her with Sharpay. High School Musical 2 will test the character's true feelings and trust for each other.

I think Zac Efron,Vanessa A.Hudgens,Ashley Tisdale,and Lucas Grabeel did a great job on this movie i loved it i watch it all the time ever since it came out.I loved the finalie song and dance that really got me up out of my seatand dancing.I wish they come out with a part 2 of High School Musical.Ican't wait to get the dvd of it.This movie is the best.

i just love the 1st movie of HSM i think Zac, Vanessa, Ashley, and Lucas all have a wonderful chemestry together. this is just a hunch i bet off set they are really good friends and they really do get along, can't wait for the 2nd movie . I have a question in the 2nd movie when Ryan in convicing Gabriella that Troy is cheating on her with Sharpay, does he try and have Gabriella hook up with him? I have watched the movie everyone night since i got it on May 23rd, i memorized some of the lines by heart and also know the song lyrics by heart.
