Pity those who seek medical care at Seattle Grace Hospital these days — they may find themselves faced with a psycho gunman on a shooting spree, interns who insist on dishing out relationship advice, or — worst of all — a high school prom in progress.
Three hours and two days later, the season finale of Grey's Anatomy finally came to its apocalyptic conclusion on Monday night, and if the Survivor: Exile Island finale was all about excessive ego validation and feel-good pseudo-spiritual vibrations, Grey's Anatomy offered the opposite — a melodramatic feel-bad downer leaving its cast in a state of turmoil and devastation (but looking rather dashing in prom formalwear in spite of it all.)
I don't really do hospital shows...the bloody parts make me queasy. I've never seen a single episode of E.R. (or General Hospital, for that matter.) Somehow, though, I got sucked in by Grey's Anatomy (just like about 20 million other people every Sunday night).
I think what makes its cringe-inducing (and often completely unbelievable) surgical situations endurable is the witty banter between the characters, the intriguing "class structure" at the hospital (nurses vs. interns vs. surgeons), and even the overdone but admittedly effective indie-pop soundtrack.
Lately, though, moments of levity, breezy dialogue, and comic relief have been harder to come by, and this season's overwrought, over-long, stress-fest of a finale was no exception.
Our once mosty-sensible interns engage in unthinkable and outlandish errors in judgment and even violations of the law in the final tension-filled hours of Grey's Anatomy's second season, with shockingly few consequences. Only the comparatively innocent seem to suffer: Dr. Burke gets shot and may lose his hand function, potentially ending his surgical career; the adorable Scrabble-playing patient Denny suddenly dies (despite his newly installed "stolen" transplanted heart) when Izzie spends too long deciding which dress to wear to the hospital prom; and, saddest of all, Meredith and McDreamy's poor dog is put to sleep.

Seriously. (their words not mine)
I like this sick little soap. I hated when Denny dies. (Let's hide and watch - if when new season appears, ....he may come back - like a dream. (hey I'm not here, didn't tell you this) It is going to depend on outside (i.e. audience) outcrys. It wasn't my idea to kill him, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is one HAWT man. I have seen via internet a BIG outcry about his demise.
Remember where you heard this Spoiler from....
Contact me if/when I may be right. Then throw money...

Yeah, like "Who Shot JR" on Dallas... it was all just a dream... hmmm.... that would be an easy way to explain a lot of things, actually...

It got worse and worse until I finally stopped watching "Greys Anatomy". For one thing, I couldn't imagine why anyone would care about Denny.

The problem with GA is that the writers let it consume itself, just as a mushroom autolyses. The selfishness of the characters, that they are willing to cheat and kill outsiders for the benefit of themselves and their favorites, just reflects the paucity of the writers imaginations. So they let GA devolve into ordinary soap opera. Ho hum.

It was better than the Boston Legal and was moving and very exciting. I enjoyed it a lot. It was very dramatic when Denny asked to marry her and she said yes and he ended up dying.

I love this show. with a passion. woot woot for mer. and dreamy. like way to get it on. i was totally getting tired of them pretending to hate eachother. obviously merideth choses derek. if this was all a dream... i would cry... but it's not because izzy isnt signed on for next year... which practically scratches that idea right?

wait....wasn't there a show just like this, but with a different setting....oh yeah, it was ally mcbeal.
and also there are/were shows like General Hospital, Doctors, ER, House, etc.
But some of those shows were actually good. I wish it would just use a different setting, and not really involve their jobs at all. This is just recycled stuff just targeted to a younger, fragile audience. don't those people ever work? c'mon, they didn't go to medical school to just bitch about how crappy their life is.

Grey's Anatomy has so much life. Ive only seen one episode and it wont be the last. This is the first time in a long time that I cant wait till the next episode of a next season. Ive been a long time fan of ER, but with great remorse, I now know that Grey's Anatomy is at the top. In the season finale of season 2 they played a song called Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. Its the best song of the year. Im addicted and I know you will be too. Thank you Grey's Anatomy. It's possible the best TV episode Ive ever seen.
