TV Review: Glee Sings "Silly Love Songs" - Page 5

Part of: Gleekonomics

There was also a very nice ending, as most of the New Directions (the ones not at home with mono) showed up to hear Kurt, Blaine, and the Warblers sing the title track, "Silly Love Songs", at their favorite restaurant. It was nice, even if I wished Kurt did more of the singing. The coming together at the end was the important part. The cast feels like a family on screen and off, and I love when they support each other.

As you can see, there was a lot going on in the hour of television, and almost all of it was great. Character driven plots are what makes Glee great, and the writers have really tried to focus on that this year, to their credit.

The adults were in short supply this week, but that will surely be corrected next week as Sue (Jane Lynch) joins the New Directions! Watch Glee Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on FOX.

While I disagree that Santana crying was OOC (she cried over losing tanning privileges, losing the duet competition, having to sit in a wheelchair for a week, etc....the joke is that she's hysterically sensitive even though she acts tough), this episode benefited greatly from giving her an extra spotlight. More Santana, please. That voice over was deliciously perfect and insightful. I too would love to see the return of Brittana. If this episode showed us anything in regards to Santana through all the humor, it's that she is terribly lonely and missing that girl, the only one who understands her.

    Puck/Lauren was hilarious.

    Sick of the Warblers.

I aree with your review mostly. I think Finn was a jerk in the past episode, and I am so glad that Rachel is finally getting over him. But I really want them back together ASAP. It doesn't make sense to me how Finn can forgive Quinn but he can't forgive Rachel ( what Quinn did was far worse).
I love Santana's *itchy attitude & would would love to see more of Brittana---hilarious!

Where was Sue in this episode?!

I like that they gave more attention to Santana. I don't want Finn/Quinn to get back together... I really don't like them as a couple. I really like that we got more perspective on Blaine's character. Until now, we've been seeing him with Kurt's eyes - an older, cooler, smooth guy who has it all figured out. It was nice to see that he is just a high school kid and is not immune to stupid crushes and making a fool of himself. As you said, it gave him more balance.

Yeah I agree with the Tina thing...what was the point of that? I did not get it. I love the whole Santana bit with giving Finn mono because she knew Quinn would get it...and I feel bad for Sam because he's going to get hurt, it seems...although it appears Santana may get her hooks into him as well after that glance they shared in the restaurant...

Love that Blaine is not so perfect and that Kurt was able to get his feelings out without sounding desperate and that they came to an agreement...all in all great episode!

Santana is fast becoming one of my favorite characters. Naya Rivera is absolutely fantastic and this episode managed to shed a little light on why her character is the way she is. And Brittana! I completely agree that Britt/Santana is a much better pairing than Britt/Artie, which I find very unbalanced to be honest. I think Brittany and Santana have been one of the more organic friendships/relationships on the show and the actresses have great chemistry together. And Santana seems to be the only person who doesn't treat Brittany like a child, which I greatly appreciate.

I've honestly always loved the idea of Finn/Quinn, but I agree that it's disappointing the way they are re-introducing the relationship. Although I'm still interested in what they're going to do with them. They both made their mistakes in that relationship but i do think there were genuine feelings between them and hopefully they get some closure.
