As Robin and Jason ended up at the ER doors, a limo pulled up. It was Sonny, there to collect Jason and return him to his daytime life as a mob hitman coffee importer and away from the hospital. Robin turned back and learned Patrick and Leyla were treating a hit and run patient with a head injury. She went to offer help, and Patrick practically dragged her away saying she couldn't treat the patient, she was too emotionally involved. In what had to be the oddest 'season ending' to a show I've ever seen, she pulled away and looked down at the patient… who was her.
Up until those last thirty seconds, I was quite happy with the way the season wrapped up, especially since I had the knowledge the few unresolved issues were going to cross over to the daytime show. The last bit offered, with no opportunity on the horizon for explanation, left me with a bitter after-taste and just plain confused. The best I could hope to take away from it was the metaphor, a Robin who was a physical hurt as she was emotionally shattered.
All in all, this little Soapnet experiment turned out to be entertaining, not in the same vien as the medical dramas that are popular on all the networks, but as a sleeker, yet darker, version of the daytime drama, centered around the hospital and the people that work there. Now comes the hard part, waiting until next summer for season two.

Regina and Dr.Leo. That was the highlight of the episode for me. I am really shipping for Regina and Leo season 2 of Night Shift.
Also Spenell needs to have a decent reason to hang out at the hospital. I was glad Ms. Sneed called him on it.

I do like the Leo/Regina dynamic; they definitely bonded on the Night Shift. Unfortunately, I don't see any indication she is one of the characters who will be biding the hiatus time on GH, so if the relationship is going to progress, it won't be until season two of NS.
The reasons Spinelli was always around the hospital did seem a bit contrived. I will give you that, but short of hurting himself every week, what other reason would he have for being there? I guess he could have been serving community service too if you wanted validity, but it seems more true to his quirky character to be there visiting Jason and stalking Jolene.

Hmmm I never really thought of Regina and Leo. But I'll gonna watch out for that the next time I watch. I wish Regina was on GH right now instead of Nadine.
The finale was one of the better episodes of the seasons. Like Connie said I too was pretty glad Toussaint made it. I hope if this is renewed better writing is put in place. Some episodes were really good while others were medicore.

I had to laugh at the idea of Sonny coming to pick up Jason at the crack of dawn. Still, pretty much enjoyed all of NS, even though the crossover to GH has been confusing to say the least. (and I watched it all)
Some thoughts?
Loved the way Spinelli and Jolene ended. Too bad Amanda Baker went to AMC, would have liked to see that story continue on GH.
Loved the connection between Robin/Jason in the shoot out, too.
I loved the diverse cast, and was thrilled that Toussaint made it.

KSC - Sonny showing up at the tale end of the Night Shift season was classic! It made me giggle. I almost wish it would have ended there and not gone on that wildly weird scene with the Robin look-alike.
I wonder if Toussaint will be back in season 2 or if he'll be out on an 'oldies' tour with The Saints?
