For those of you who watched series three of Doctor Who, it's not hard to guess what the second message means. The first message doesn't matter that much to me — I hated the Ood. Sorry.
The small arguments of Doctor Who fandom don't really matter that much to me. This episode however is probably the one where I agree that the sonic screwdriver, a classic item of the franchise, is an overused script tool. Rumor has it that when series five begins (and Matt Smith takes over as the eleventh Doctor), that Steven Moffat will do away with it. Given that Moffat has written some of the best stories of New Who, I'm all for it in any case.
The Tritovore seem wasted here. They must have been a last-minute addition to keep the story going. I've heard some complain about the costumes looking cheap, but it's Doctor Who — a show that specializes in making tin cans serve as alien villains.
To be fair to Davies and Roberts, they did mention in a recent interview with Doctor Who Magazine that the story is a series of different ideas brought together. I don't care how many ideas you put into a story, just make it work. "Planet Of The Dead," even with an excellent performance by Lee Evans, was a poorly executed mess of an adventure.
Meanwhile, twelfth Doctor = Lee Evans?

I liked Michelle Ryan, she was one of the few saving graces of this episode. She should be the next companion.

I don't know, it didn't seem that bad. Then again, I generally think the show has only 2-3 good episodes a year, with the rest uneventful fluff, so I suppose my expectations weren't all that high.
Of course, with only four episodes this "series," one of them needs to be amazing! This definitely wasn't amazing.
