Have you ever felt that you just don't fit in? The FBI proflling team is the profession people who like that. The difference? They have been trained to use their unique gifts to capture criminals. By studying behavior, they are generally one step ahead.
Led by Special Agent Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), the team includes Agent Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), who can get others to trust him. Also assigned are Agent Derek Morghan (Shemar moore), who comes from the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearm Bureau, Elle Greeman (Lola Glaudini), a sexual behavior therapist, and Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), a former child prodigy who knowledge of arcane trivia can help solve the puzzle. Another team member is the middlewoman to upper brass as well as a media specialist.
Reid is the character who draws me in each week. Part of why "oddball" fits so well is that he has autistic tendencies. While clearly brilliant, Reid has trouble interacting with others. Fortunately, other team members are there to help. Gideon and Hotchner serve as father and older brother figures.
When Reid fails his firearms test, Hotchner is the one who steps up to try and get Reid prepared. One thing which works is Hotchner's demonstration of how to fire acurately. Profilers do not need weapons, but Reid wants one to give him authority.
It's the social awkwardness that Morgan picks on. He suggests that if Reid needs hlep all he has to do is blow. A police whistle. Considering Morgan places the whistle around Reid's neck while saying that, it's humiliating.
However, Reid has the opportunity to prove himself when a serial shooter has sent three people to the hospital. Since the shooter was not seen when he fired his gun, it's apparent that the unsub (unknown subject) has had training. By examining the crime scene, the FBI team suspects their criminal is or has been a police officer. The timing was precisely planned out to when the cops changed shifts.

what is LDSK short for?

Long distance serial killer. The term distinguishes this person from a sniper, a control issue. Besides, snipers shoot to kill.
