Remember the snags I mentioned earlier? The final fadeout shows the words 'to be continued'. There has been much speculation about whether there will be a third season. Personally, I think there should be. It's one of the smartest written shows out there, and a solid cast brings people back each week. This is why I review it.
Now, it seems to me those three words imply the episode has not yet finished. Much remains to be answered, as in what is the back story of the latest group of bad persons? It also has military trained personnel as part of its membership. They claim to be spies, but perhaps a different county.
A decision has yet to be made officially, but much clamoring by fans and those who watch for professional reasons is hard to ignore. Or should be, anyway. Choosing, say, Heroes over this show would probably be a costly mistake.
What gives me the most pause has to do with the content of the concept. Anything can happen on this show, and tends to. I have come to realize a cynical eye helps when watching. A character could come back - Jill (Jordana Brewster) is alive thanks to Chuck. She is part of FULCRUM, but he let his college girlfriend go anyway ("Chuck Versus the First Kill"). Story lines can be set aside for a while, but they are not gone completely. Take the case of Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence), the demoted manager of Buy More, and the relationship he has with the mother of Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez). This is being developed slowly, and still has not come to a conclusion, say a wedding or breakup. By the way, where in the process is Big Mike's divorce? He got served with papers at one point, but nothing has happened since. It might be nice to know if there are children involved.
Emmett Milbarge (Tony Hale), the newest Buy More manager from a heated place down below, lost three of his employees, Chuck, Morgan, and Casey. Anna goes where Morgan does, so four in theory. He needs a comeuppance, badly. Ooooh here's an idea - put Brian Kubach, who as Drew, last interviewed Chuck at Roark Industries ("Chuck Versus the Dream Job"), as a new Buy More employee! It could be a cover for spy work, as usual. These two are great comic talents who just might have the right blend of chemistry needed to boost ratings even higher.
