Another kick for those who adore spy flicks is the return of Emmett Milbrage (Tony Hale), the newly named manager. Only Emmett would rig up microphones which broadcast his conversations with Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez) for all to hear, including Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence), who Emmett gleefully tossed out of a job just the week before ("Chuck vs. the First Kill").
Hale is a brilliant actor whose character is manipulative, selfish, and conniving. It works! Just watching him once is enough to make me smile. The power outage which comes courtesy of Jeff (Scott Krinsky) and Lester (Vik Sahay) — who else? — and sends Emmett into a full panic mode is a satisfying payback.
The season finale is next week, April 27. Chuck is going to have to make a major decision. If you consider this a show where anything can take place, be prepared for a major surprise. Ellie and Awesome are supposed to be married, but who knows whether or not they'll make it to the altar? There is only one thing which can be said for sure. Ratings on this show week to week have been lackluster for the most part, which tends not to bode well for a new season. Like the show? WATCH! I cannot stress this enough. Not only should events of next week send Chuck into a third season if there is to be one, but any character who has ever been a part of the group could show up to help boost viewership.
