Sister Wife Central. Barb steams open Ben’s birthday card from her sister. And … scene.
Bill and Nicki arrive at Juniper Creek, where there are actual bleachers set up, presumably for the massive Grant Family Photo. Nicki greets her family, including two mothers, a sister who does her hair exactly like her, and Adaleen, who welcomes her by asking if she brought the potatoes.
Adaleen greets Bill with a warm hug and kiss and says it’s nice to see him.
Adaleen: When was the last time? Oh, yeah, when you broke through our window.
Hee. I love her. She gets some of the best lines in the whole damn show. She also mentions an emergency lane and how they’re putting out night patrols in case of a raid. She’s like the Queen of Juniper Creek. She’s in charge of everything. Then, to prove that I can, in fact, love her more, she lifts the huge bag of potatoes on her shoulder and hauls it up the stairs.
Upstairs, Rhonda is watching everyone from her window. Her mother comes in and gives her a hard time about how she had to drive all the way there from Mexico because Adaleen called her. I guess Rhonda’s been having second thoughts about getting sealed to Roman, though we haven’t really seen evidence of that, besides her wanting to be an actress in New York. Anyway, her mother tells her that being sealed to the prophet is a great honor and that she better still be “intact.” Ewwwww.
Roman is composing a letter to the Republican Caucus, opposing marriage being defined as a union between one man and one woman. He then cites Moses, Jacob, and Abraham as holy figures who were polygamists. Nicki interrupts to discuss the situation between her father and Bill. She says that she knows he’ll hold up his end and settle things. He says that of course he will.
Sister Wife Central. Barb is having her book club meeting with Don’s three wives and some random redhead that I’ve never seen before. They never tell us who she is, either, but I guess she’s a polygamist because Barb is harping about Cindy and how she wrote in Ben’s card that what happened to his family wasn’t his fault. Cindy has also not answered any of Barb’s calls since the Mother of the Year incident.
