It quickly became apparent that all the guys were going to be safe as another girl, Kristy Lee Cook, made her way to the "special" seats at the edge of the stage. Sigh of relief! I expected Kristy to be in the bottom three and with her there I felt less worried that Carly would be sent home.
The last contestant to join Carly and Kristy was Amanda Overmyer. Okay, while I don't think Amanda belonged there, it also wasn't a crazy surprise to me. I still felt pretty sure it was Kristy Lee Cook's time to go, but she'd escaped the axe several weeks running, which meant all bets were off.

Amanda Overmyer's time is up on American Idol. I'm bummed. I'm sad. I'm even a little annoyed. While I didn't expect Amanda to actually win, I figured she'd be there for a few more weeks. In my opinion, Amanda deserved to be in the Top Ten and a part of the summer tour.
Really sorry to see her leave. Also my opinion - it should have been Kristy Lee Cook to depart last week AND this week. Oh well. Nothing to do but hope Kristy ramps it up and redeems herself next week.
