The White House gets a surprise call from Phillip Bauer. He wants to trade Josh for the SSSCBD. Daniels listens but agrees to nothing. When he finishes the call, Karen pounces.
"Sir, you cannot be seriously considering this, he's a bad, bad man. He's a sociopath!"
Daniels grunts at Tom for his input. Tom immediately affirms, "he is a sociopath."
Yup, Peter MacNicol proves once again why he was hired to play Tom Lennox. Now, Carlo Rota does pretty well with his characterization of Morris O'Brian – but MacNicol is absolutely superb at line delivery and comic timing. It'd be great to see him back next season.
Karen, Daniels, and Lennox are confused by the pressure that Subarov is putting on the White House, they wonder if he's being influenced by some of the old guard advisors in Moscow. But they still have a decision to make regarding Phillip Bauer's offer.
Meanwhile Jack, Josh, Doyle, and the rest get ready to return to CTU. Jack is interrupted by a phone call. As Josh heads to the car, Doyle whisks him over to a helicopter. (Where did it come from? Didn't Jack question it?) When Jack tries to stop Doyle, he's held back by other field agents. Panic is clear on both his and his nephew's faces as the helicopter ascends into the predawn sky.
I guess we know which way Daniels decided.

As usual, great recap, MK. "Jack squeezes the petals out of Zhou." You have to love that scene. Next week should be really explosive. Will be the best finale in "24" history? Hmmm.
