Despite understanding Torres’ anger at his decision to keep her focused on the case without consulting her, Lightman is unapologetic. He tells her, “You have a talent, but it comes with a sacrifice, believe me,” reminding her his own marriage suffered from his dedication to his job. In this case, Cal weighs the greater good over personal rights and firmly says, “It’s time for you to realise, that talent, it doesn’t belong to just you anymore.” As both Zoe and Gillian know only too well, he’s prepared to sacrifice his personal needs as he uses his specialised knowledge to help others. Whether Torres will make the same choice remains to be seen.
“Sacrifice” was a wonderfully crafted end to an increasingly intriguing first season for Lie To Me. I can’t wait to pick up with the Lightman Group next season.

Yes, and I think Monday evening will be fantastic, as I'm a fan of both shows. However, so far, only thirteen episodes of Lie To Me have been ordered, with "24" taking its place at mid-season--I'm not so happy about that. Hopefully, there will be a place in the schedule at mid-season for Lie To Me by the time it arrives.
