At midseason, two new dramas and one new comedy will join the schedule. Human Target will premiere with a special preview on Sunday January 17th, 8:00PM ET, following the NFC Divisional Playoff game. The new series is an action thriller based on a popular DC Comics graphic novel and stars Mark Valley (Fringe), Chi McBride (Pushing Daisies) and Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen). Its regular timeslot will be Wednesday at 9:00PM ET, following the American Idol results show.
Here's the trailer for the show.
The other new drama on FOX's schedule is Past Life, a thriller based on the book The Reincarnationist, about a psychologist and a former NYPD detective who have to unravel mysteries in the present and the past. The new series starts Kelli Giddish (All My Children) and Nicholas Bishop (Home and Away) and airs in the choice slot of 9PM ET on Tuesday, following American Idol. The Sunday night schedule switches around as new non-traditional family comedy Sons of Tucson replaces The Cleveland Show at 8:30PM ET, that show moves to 9:30PM, while American Dad will air at 7:30PM.
The eighth season of 24, set in New York city, returns with a special premiere over two nights, beginning on Sunday, January 17th at 9:00PM ET, following Human Target’s debut, before settling into its regular time on Monday at 9 PM ET, replacing Lie To Me after House.
The network’s strategy of protecting its sophomore hits Fringe and Lie To Me, while launching new shows from the platforms of its tent pole series looks sound. There’s lots to look forward to in the new fall slate, so mark your calendars!
