TV Media: Special Thanksgiving Edition

Welcome to the ongoing mission of the TV media experiment; its goal of delivering fine television-themed entertainment in one convenient place continues. Still having fun? Are you there? There is no end in sight — the media does not know when to say when, it is relentless with its constant presence. The only way to satisfy it is to keep plowing ahead.

This week is a special Thanksgiving edition. With the big day of food and football less than a week away, I felt it appropriate to dig up some Thanksgiving themed videos and clips to share. Turned out to be harder than I thought. Hopefully, you will have some fun with these in anticipation of the day when we eat ourselves into a stupor.

SNL - Vincent Price's Thanksgiving Special

This clip is from a few years ago and features Bill Hader doing a pretty good take on the master of the macabre. It is a pretty funny bit. It also features Kristen Wiig as Judy Garland and Horatio Sanz as Alfred Hitchcock. It is a delightful bit of goofiness as we get closer to the day when slaughtered turkeys are roasted for our feasting.

Friends - "The One with Rachel's Other Sister"

Christina Applegate guest stars on this Thanksgiving themed Friends episode. It starts off promisingly enough as Joey forgot he was supposed to be in the parade with his fellow soap opera stars. This is not my favorite series, but the Joey character is one of the best TV has seen. Applegate steals the show as she displays little restraint in her observations of the Friends clan.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving - Clip

It's not Thanksgiving unless you watch this perennial favorite. Here is a Warner Brothers-provided clip of the opening football gag. It never gets old — watching Lucy pull the ball away as Charlie comes racing in makes me laugh every time.
