So, because I am of the personal opinion that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen wavered the reputation of the new-age franchise slightly, the news of a third film, Dark of the Moon (to be released this year, 2011), made me cringe a little. I hope that Michael Bay manages to salvage the franchise, and make Dark of the Moon into a complete bad-ass film, otherwise he will end up smothering a godly franchise for me.
To conclude, here is what I would like to see in any new Transformers movie. I would love there to be a movie based on Unicron, the giant planet-consuming robot, which is kind of like a colourful Death Star. Unicron can also transform into a human frame, like all of the other Transformers, which the Death Star really lacked in my opinion; I think I will pitch my idea to the Emperor later tonight.
For my main proposal, I would be over the moon if someone was brave enough to remake Transformers: The Movie (1986), because that was an absolutely stunning animated film, and the storyline was epic. As well as the story, the music score was the cheese of all cheeses, featuring some awesome tracks from Lion and Spectre General (Kick-Axe), which never fails to put a smile on my face, whilst subconsciously making me cringe.
With the technology that is now available to the film industry today, I really think that something more spectacular could be done with the Transformers movies. I hold onto the hope that Michael Bay or another director really steps up to the plate and delivers something to be remembered in the near future, for the new and the old fans.
