Thor Concept Images Also Leaked?

Part of: A Dose of Awesome

It seems as though comic book fans are having an especially lucky day.  Following the news that supposedly official concept images of Chris Evans as Captain America had leaked, we have now been treated to a look at some concept art of Chris Hemsworth as Thor courtesy of Collider. Thor already has an official image out there, but it didn't show off much of the costume so if this new concept image is legit it gives a better look at the character.

The style used to render the Thor concept image is extremely similar to the Captain America images. That alone makes it seem possible that they are official or that they are the very skillful work of an artist who is pulling one over on all of us. So far all these images have come from various unofficial sources and there has been no official word from Marvel.

Anyway, I have to say that I don't like the Thor costume. There's something about it that just doesn't look right. It doesn't look godly and imposing like it should, and Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, does not look how I imagined it at all. A hammer of the gods, you'd expect that to be I don't know, bigger? It does glow and I guess that's pretty cool, but I was expecting some epic thing that a mortal wouldn't even attempt to pick up. The hammer was always quite small in the comic, looking back, but it just doesn't look right in those pictures. The ratio seems to be a bit off. Additionally, the pants and boots aren't doing it for me. The chest armor and the undershirt look exactly how they should, and almost identical to the official image, but those pants just look lame. A god should be way more stylish than that.

It does have that element of the traditional — the red cape, the undershirt, and the circles on the armor -- mixed with the modern.

So what do you think of the Thor concept images? Love it? Hate it? Think they are fake?
