The Italian Job

This was a really fun movie. I liked all the actors (even Charlize Theron, who's always been underwhelming before. Except those pics in Playboy. Yowza!), especially Seth Green and the British guy. The action scenes were compelling, and the plot was engrossing.

One action scene really stood out. The red, white, and blue souped-up Minis were really fun. The chase scene they were involved in was pretty incredible, especially since it all seemed real in this day and age of computer generated everything.

Like I said, the plot was great. Twisty and convoluted, but never hard to understand. Plus, it was full of nice humorous bits, most of which made it into the preview (I've got the Holy Spirit! Get on it, it's a nice trip. I don't do dogs, I had a really bad experience once. What kind of experience? I had a bad experience.) Like I said, Green was great, he's really good at those witty one-liners. Most come from being a Buffy ex-pat.

So go see this movie. Sure, it's only two hours plus of summer fluff, and it won't solve any of the world's problems or even highlight them (unless double crossing thieves are a bigger issue that I assumed), but it is a lot of fun.

I've always been overwhelmed by Charlize Theron's looks. She has been in some rather bad movies though (Astronaut's Wife, Reindeer Games) but also some good ones (Cider House Rules, Two Days In The Valley). Anyway, I think you mean Seth Green.

Wow! I'm surprised to hear that this is over 2 hrs! Enough with the epic films hollywood, some don't need to be! Good to hear there's actually an engaging plot, though.

I guess I'll have to make it out to see this eventually, it's been getting better press than I expected.

Hmmm, looks like an admin corrected my Sean/Seth mistake.

It may have been just under two hours, they showed about half a dozen previews before the movie and I wasn't wearing a watch.
