The Duke Watches "Death Of A Nation" - The Anti-Flag DVD - Page 2

There's also a tour-video type affair, proving equally amusing, and a pretty lengthy interview. Curiously, they don't for a second think of mentioning D.W Griffith.

What they do wanna do, though, is yack on about "The Bush Regime" and "Changing the world" and so on, all of which is perfectly commendable, and yacked about with next-to-no pretension.

Anti-Flag also have a fair old idea of their heritage, culturally speaking, and spend as much time talking about Woody Guthrie as they do, say, The Ramones.

In fact, I don't think they mention the damn Ramones either. What the fuck is wrong with you, The Anti-Flags?

Guthrie crops up again, via archival footage, in the video for Post-War Breakout, also included here. In addition to this, they even call one of their songs This Machine Kills Fascists.

Rounding off the whole shebang, on account of DVD's shouldn't have corners, really, is a "Propaganda section" which, sadly, proves to be a tad disappointing, in that it's just a load of the web-net links to sites that most of the fanbase already know about. Still, if you're willing to be bothered to click on them, it puts things into perspective.

At the end of the damn day, when all is said and done and so on and so forth and blah, fans of the band will lap this shit up like as if it wasn't shit at all, but rather some gorgeous liquid treat of some kind. If, however, you never gave less than a rancid toss about Anti-Flag, then most likely this disc will be the last one you would ever even dream of picking up, even if you already owned every other disc in the store, and even then, you'd only pick it up for to sneer at and then put back down.

It's pretty damn impressive, though, and it proves that there's still plenty of folks willing to jump up and down to pop-punk that says something other than "God, it's so hard being a member of the Blink 82's or whoever the hell."

Good work, Anti-Flag
