The Celebrity Apprentice and Nepotism - Page 2

Part of: TV Nights

I think I know what you want me to say next though, and I absolutely will — the worst thing about last night's episode wasn't LifeLock not knowing what they wanted, it was the second task which smacked of nepotism. The teams were tasked with running a charity auction featuring Ivanka's jewelry. Hmm… I can't imagine why the Ivanka Trump-based task got split over the course of two episodes which will give it nearly three hours of screen time, can you? It certainly couldn't have anything to do with Ivanka being on the show and being Donald's daughter, now could it? No. Certainly not, that's not the kind of thing anyone would organize to highlight their daughter's other interests, is it?

Oh no, wait, it totally is, isn't it? That's the exact sort of thing we ought to have expected. It doesn't make it any less disappointing, but it was completely to be expected. Clearly there are some perks being Trump's daughter and this is just one of them.

I'd like to think that if I had a TV show I wouldn't act in the same manner, but let's be honest, we probably all would to a greater or lesser extent.

Speaking of nepotism........the Rivers are overflowing with it. Joan is over the top and from what I can tell, contributed mightily to Mellisa's raw bitchiness.

I think Dice said it best: "don't they believe believe in cuttin da embilical cord in dat family?" "I mean....what is Melissa 48 years old already"

Best line ever and the shows producers would have been wise to keep him around a little longer. Certainly longer than Clint or Herschel.....

Great episode. I just finished watching it on TiVo. I didn't think of the nepotism--good point!

I'm still pushing for Jesse. Most of them seem crazy and I've lost all respect for Annie. But they should have seen her two-faceness. She's a POKER PLAYER!

    Anyway, nice article.

really disappointed that they still have Melissa on the show. i think Anne is great, she is just a powerhouse and so is Joan. the only difference between the 2 is that Joan is not use to sharing the spot light.

I think Joan and Melissa are great. As for Annie, she is the prime example of the type of people I despise. She's everything Joan said and more, maybe not the Hitler thing, but a conniving nasty bitch, yes.

I am so glad that Melissa is finally gone. I was sick and tired of hearing all the crap coming from both her and her mom. As for Annie, people may hate her and the way she plays the game, but that is how the game is to be played! Life is not fair and people unfortunately use other people to get ahead, if you don't stay one step ahead you are going to be the one getting used. You have to look out for yourself because no one else is going to look out for you. Annie is smart because she already knows this!!!
