Teen Choice Awards Nominees Are Up

Last year, the Jonas Brothers dominated the Teen Choice Awards, winning six awards. This year, the three brothers, who released a new album this week, are hosting the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, which airs Monday, August 10th on FOX.

Not only are the boys hosting, but they are up for nine awards, including: Choice Move: Music/Dance, Choice TV Actor: Comedy, Choice TV: Breakout Show, Choice Music: Love Song, Choice Red Carpet Icon: Male, Choice Music: Album (Group), Choice Tour, Choice Soundtrack and Choice Male Hottie. So, they are bound to win something.

The boys actually won some of the same awards last year that they are nominated for this year. Last year, they won Choice Single/Love Song: “When You Look Me in The Eyes,” Choice Breakout Group, Choice Male Hottie, Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon Male and Choice Summer Song “Burnin’ Up.”

The rest of this year’s nominees have been released. Twilight, a romantic movie between a vampire and a human, received twelve nominations, more than anything or anyone else. The cast of the famous Disney film High School Musical 3: Senior Year, teen idol and last year’s host Miley Cyrus and the cast of CW’s Gossip Girl are up for ten awards. FOX’s own singing reality show has seven nominations.

There are 75 categories. (Although, it really doesn’t take a long time to vote.) Some examples of categories are favorite movie (comedy, horror, action, bromance, etc.), favorite television show/actor (breakout, reality, villain, etc.), music (male singer, female singer, etc.), celebrity baby (seriously), and more.

Anyone ages 13-19 can vote everyday to ensure that their favorite wins a coveted surfboard. So, after reading the last two sentences of this article, go vote and keep doing so every day. Tune in August 10th at 8 ET/PT when the Teen Choice Awards airs.
