Team America: World Police

You have to give credit to Matt Stone and Trey Parker they definitely have no problems in mocking just about everyone. It's been 7 years and still counting (imagine that South Park is already 7 years old) that Matt Stone and Trey Parker have revolutionized the comedy and animation genre and now they take a crack at the action while using satire and that's the biggest problem with the movie. It should have been the other way around, hence it should of been a satire movie with action scenes. The movie is sometimes just too serious and it's a shame because the scenes that happen to be funny are hilarious.

Every actor (okay the majority of Hollywood's big names) are found here with one little catch... they all have strings and happen to be puppets to other world leaders (catch the little subtle satire???) Everyone from Ben Affleck to Matt Damon and even Michael Moore are made fun of. The most impressive thing about the movie is that whatever position you might have against the war on Iraq and the whole new-q-lar (tried to spell it so that George W. Bush could understand), you will have the same reaction towards the movie. It will probably shock you... Stone & Parker's humour always uses graphic scenes and foul language and if you happen not to find that funny than by all means avoid this movie. One thing that Stone & Parker do very well is to incorporate songs into their TV shows and movies.

If you remember South Park: Bigger, Longer & uncut received an Oscar nomination for "Blame Canada" (best original song in a movie). Team America: World Police does a very good job on that aspect as well. Catchy songs that will make you run towards your favorite share program so that you can listen to the songs again or perhaps even buy the soundtrack!

The movie gets points for originality but it still lacks an identity. You cannot make a movie that is "Bruckheimerish" (bad) and satire at the same time and while being serious. Even the biggest fans of South Park will be a little disappointed.
