Ford's incessant, you-can't-escape-it ad campaign with Taylor Hicks is Chinese water torture - you know it's coming, you just don't know exactly when.
I'm not a fan of American Idol by any means, but I thought Taylor Hicks was a breath of fresh air just because he wasn't one of the wailing, caterwauling, warbling, over-emotive divas that the show is usually responsible for churning out. This includes the big dude who won a while back whose name I completely forget because he's done absolutely nothing since winning, while the little pixie Clay Aiken who came in second actually had an entire career since then. Now, however, thanks to Ford's ambush marketing campaign, I am eagerly awaiting the day when Taylor Hicks completely disappears.…

Personally, I love Taylor's style, his music, his personality, the total package. I even like the Ford commercial. I haven't seen it as much as other people and in fact I haven't seen it at all today. To say that the Soul Patrollers are the only ones on here attacking others is to totally not be able to understand how the Taylor bashers come across. Taylor has a fantastic fan base, comprised of people of all ages. He is a talented singer, songwriter, and entertainer. I understand that not everyone likes him. That's OK, none of us are liked by everyone. The world doesn't work that way. What I like about him is his passion. After listening to his early music (I'm not limited to only hearing AI performances), it has given me a greater appreciation for all kinds of music. I never have liked RAP, but because of Taylor, I have opened my ears to many types and styles of music that I never liked. I'm really listening to music now. As far as the record company taking advantage of Taylor, this isn't going to happen. I have read and seen many interviews that Taylor has done. This is not a man who would sign a contract that he couldn't control. When his music comes out, people will see that for themselves. He is more than the AI clone that most people have seen. I wish him a long, successful career and I am just thankful that he is taking us along for the ride. I haven't been this excited about a performer in years, and yes at 49 years old, I am a grandmother, but also a human and I think Taylor is HOT. I'll take all I can get of the Soulman.

All you Taylor haters have nothing better to do than watch TV all day waiting for Taylor commercials to come on? Seems to me you secretly like it. Oh yeah..to repeat others here: SOUL PATROL!

Number one...I doubt Taylor had much say in the commercial. Everything was run by Ford and directed in the way THEY wanted. Ford is the one that paid for the obsessive advertising. I don't see why Taylor should be to blame.
Number two...wishing ANYONE death is sadistic and cruel.
Number three...What do you mean, "all of us old grandmas"? Taylor has an extremely broad fanbase ranging in age from 10-100, male and female.
Soul Patrol!

Hey Oscar The Grouch!! What do Taylor and Ford Motor Company have in common?? Well, they're both making money and it looks like you don't by posting your complaints on some website.
In other words........GET A LIFE!! And get a job while you're at it, maybe your negative attitude will change and people will like you and be willing to be your friend, okay?
PS
Besides.........you're really a jerk since you're wishing someone dead! Do you show that same attitude to your wife/girlfriend and even your own family?......I hope not.

OH,I SEE..."AMERICA" WAS WRONG... &... YOU KNOW TALENT! OBVIOUSLY YOU DONT HAVE A CLUE IN REGARDS TO(ANYTHING)ABOUT TAYLOR HICKS OR YOU WOULD REALIZE JUST HOW HUGE HE IS AND/OR... IS GONNA BE. TAYLOR IS NOT JUST ANOTHER MUSICIAN TRYING TO MAKE IT. HE HAS A GOD GIVEN TALENT THAT WAS BORN IN HIM & AS YOU HAVE SEEN "FORD" WAS SMART ENOUGH TO GRAB HIM UP QUICKLY. TAYLOR HICKS HAS (IT) ALL. HE HAS "IT"!!! HE IS HERE TO STAY & THEIR IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. TAYLOR HAS MORE CLASS IN HIS LITTLE FINGER THAN WE COULD EVER MELT & POUR ALL OVER YOU! "SOUL PATROL FOREVER"

AMEN! What a repulsive commercial. What a talentless jackass. What a waste of skin. It's hard to believe Ford's Admen would allow a "talented" singer to muddle pronunciation as badly as this dope does...I want to throw the remote through the tv screen every time I hear the word "possibili-D-ies"

I need a new mute button...

Ford stands for: Found On Road Dead. We can only hope the same holds true for this souless soul singer's career. I wish him no harm, I just wish he would stop harming my ears.

I always said it "Fix Often, Repair Daily", kanrei -- while I was drivig a Ford van.

That works too Doc. Never drove a Ford. Just liked the joke for Taylor.

Terriable singer!

The Ford commercial with Kelly Clarkson is making me want to barf up a lung and I can actually FEEL brain cells dying. I actually need to cover my ears when it comes on just to keep from throwing something at the television.
The worst part is that these bastards play it every five freakin minutes. Damn Ford - I'll never buy their POS cars. F.O.R.D must apply to their advertising campaigns as well as their crappy cars...

A-freakin'-men. Took the words right out of my mouth.

Is The Soul Patrol a group of people searching for one? A soul, I mean?
I personally blame the white-haired spaz for Ford laying off thousands.
Americans, ones who don't vote multiple times over the phone but with their bank accounts have spoken!
There is hope yet.

I think all the "soul patrollers"/Taylor Hicks lovers are 13 year-olds that are doing exactly what the media TOLD them to do.
"Love Taylor Hicks. Buy his records. Line our pockets."
192 - Voice of Reason
if I see that commercial one more time I'm going to pull and Elvis Presley and shoot the God-Damned TV with a bloody hand gun.
193 - wendy
DO NOT KNOCK TAYLOR UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN HIM IN PERSON WITH HIS BAND LMBO AND HIS JEFF HIS SAX PLAYER.....FRIGGEN ROCKED THE HOUSE DOWN AT VIPER ROOM IN HOLLYWOOD....ELVIS IS BACK!!!!

Seems most of you Taylor slammers are men...Jealous men....LOL...Taylor is already so so big, (In more ways than One)...Gotta be pretty bored to slam someone like this. His has always been an artist, plays the harp like no other. I think hes a real lucky guy...If you saw him in person you would feel the vibes. YEA all us Soulpatrollers got sick of the American Idol Pop tart too, This is not him at all. He didnt really truly enjoy the AI tour, but hes a rich smart and sexy man now, Laughing all the way to the bank. Check out some of his originals...
195 - UOME
Who is Taylor Hicks? Never heard of him.
196 - James
Think about it, Ford is releasing cars that are pale imitations of the monster car era, so they needed Hicks who imitates Joe Cocker. There's nothing original left in Ford like there's nothing original in Taylor Hicks.
197 - b4hicks
Hope Taylor does another Ford commercial soon so the no life person that wrote this article can have something to watch and so the Soul Patrol can see Taylor everyday! SOUL PATROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
198 - Tom Johnson
I guess a new commercial would give you Soul Patrollers something to do, since Hicks isn't exactly burning up the charts. But then that's exactly why Ford won't be investing any more time and money in him, either. ;-)
But I was right, wasn't I? Hicks has pretty much disappeared. You guys sure picked a winner!

Taylor Hicks is doing great! Thank you for your interest! He is selling concerts all over the country and he has sold greater then 675,000 cds (in the US) to date with little to no airplay (due to him not playing bubble gum pop/rock music and of course pay for play). He will be around long after the flash in the pan acts fall to the wayside!

Can somebody please tell me what is a bigger waste of time than this "article"??? Are you serious with this? You have been reduced to saying in a long, drawn-out expose that you don't like seeing Ford commercials over and over again?
Can someone please raise their hand if they DO enjoy seeing ANY commercial over and over again?
Is this NOT why we now have TIVO and DVR...ya just skip right over them. It's not that difficult. And as far as implying that Taylor Hicks would use the ridiculous song (Possibilities) on his album...PUHLEASE!!! Could you even TRY to act like you understand ANYTHING about advertising? Of COURSE he doesn't sing the song on his album....of course he might even agree with you that it's a stupid song. (You might even get him to tell you what he REALLY thinks about "Do I Make You Proud".) Again I ask, someone please raise your hand if you would turn down a million dollar contract to sing a song for a company that is going to give you NUMEROUS public appearances and is sponsoring your record deal??? Hmmm...now please if you are going to try to be even remotely credible as a critic you might want to at least have heard the music that you critique. And you might want to give your readers credit for understanding a little more about the nature of advertising endorsements. I mean seriously, it's not THAT hard to come up with a LEGITIMATE topic that will highlight your wit and showcase your obviously PROFOUND knowledge of the entertainment industry.

I am consistently amused at the lack of sense of humor of the Soul Patrol folks. Keep it coming, people. You amuse me.
