It’s back! Supernatural finally comes back Thursday evening, and this time it’s not stopping until season four is done. There are four episodes left, and if they’re reflective of what we’ve had so far this season, they’re sure to be explosive.
I have two clips of the first episode back, suspiciously titled “Jump The Shark.” This one’s been met with a bunch of controversy by spoilerphobes, but I prefer to sit back and objectively see how it plays out. Here is the overview, courtesy of The CW:
When Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) receive a call on their father’s cell phone by someone claiming to be his son Adam, they’re convinced it’s a demon trying to set them up and go to meet him. What they discover is a surprising revelation that not only reopens an old investigation from their father’s hunting past, but stirs up profound reactions from the boys as well. Guest stars Jake Abel as ‘Adam Milligan’ and Dedee Pfeiffer as ‘Kate Milligan.’ “Jump The Shark” was written by Andrew Dabb & Daniel Loflin and was directed by Phil Sgriccia.

It’s been pretty hard keeping up with things these days, so much so I’ve finally waved the white flag, admitting that I can’t possibly follow everything the Supernatural fans are doing. Just when it all becomes a blur though, something great pops out that reminds me why I love this fandom. This time, the international fans are trying to make some dreams come true.
This past weekend the “All Hell Breaks Loose” convention was held in Sydney, Australia. There were only three guests, but considering they were Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins, that made for a great event. The reports, the clips, the pictures all reflected what a memorable weekend it was, especially since most of fans attending had never had a chance to go to a Supernatural convention before. Here is the story of how the Sydney con came to be, courtesy of Supernaturalwiki :
After a year of garnering support by the fan group OzChicksUnite (Clare (swiftvixen), Kaz (Lamington), Sarah (Deandreamin), Jenna (Jensen_Jenna), Maritza (ImNotAPrincess), Bex (Bexta89) and Jodie (Jensen_Jo)) for a Supernatural Convention in Australia, The Hub Productions announced in October 2008 that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles had been booked for the con to be held on 18-19 April, 2009 in Sydney. In early 2009, Misha Collins was confirmed as a guest.

Reading your post, I couldn't help but to think just how awesome this fandom really is. To have people all around the globe to sign petitions, to get together like Europe and South American are doing... that is just plain awesomness!!! I hope with all of my heart that they get their conventions: devoted fans like them deserve only the best (the best meaning the boys).
I am so proud of being in this fandom! I've never been in a group of people (who by the way are from all around the globe meaning that we don't even know eachother by face only by name and writing) this close together!
So in the end this is good news for a Thursday morning! And yay for new episodes!!! I seriously cannot wait to read your reviews Alice! Have a good Thursday and a good weekend!

Thanks for mentioning our All Hell Breaks Loose convention, it was amazing and all three guests had the fans in stitches. The URL link has my report of Day 1 if anyone is interested in reading it. AHBL may be over but fans are already planning for Part 2. Maybe next year we can bring out Jim Beaver, who wrote a fantastic letter to the Australian fans he was so wanting to meet.

Actually yes, it is a 68 Impala. That was a typo on my part, probably because I'm used to writing "67" Impala so much in my reviews. Still, it's very pretty, and does the show some big justice. I'm in awe over the end result.
