In short, last year's show received many angry and indignant protests from fans who felt that they and their show had been scorned, and clearly were a scary bunch. This year, both Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles walked the red carpet along with some very big stars, including Robert Downey Jr, Emma Watson, and Jennifer Lawrence, and two Supernatural stars even presented an award. For a dedicated fan like me, it was more than gratifying to see “our boys” in the midst of such noteworthy names.
And quite an appearance they made, too; I bet none of your favorite co-stars color coordinated their attire. Jensen and Jared play brothers on screen, and it’s evident that spills over into real life. Jensen Ackles’ sported a suit I’ve heard described as “maroon,” “aubergine,” and “oxblood,” and it was not a single shade different from costar Jared Padalecki’s tie.
Both actors attended with their beautiful wives; Jensen was accompanied by Danneel Ackles, who “debuted her baby bump” (Don’t ask me. I don’t know why baby bumps need debuts; they’re not teenage girls, after all!) and looked like a supermodel doing it. Jared Padalecki was accompanied by former Supernatural costar and now wife Genevieve Padalecki, who, true to her role as Ruby, appeared in a dress of the same shade.
Both ladies were striking and brought smiles to the faces of “our boys.” All in all, it was a parade of stunning looks and joy. And that’s a pretty good thing, because we need some happiness in our lives right now: Supernatural’s next episode airs Wednesday, and I foresee pain. Lots of pain. Supernatural is a sadistic show, and I’m sure I’ll be feeling it, but in the meantime, I’m full of joy and pride at the little show that could.

Supernatural does indeed show what's possible with a unified fandom, but it's also testament to the fact that the People's Choice Awards are really nothing but a ballot-stuffing endeavor. I haven't watched the show for a long time, but I know that the ratings have never been especially great and most people have never heard of either of the two main stars. People's Choice recipients don't usually correspond with the Emmy's or other more mainstream awards, and this is a really good example of that. Relatively small numbers of fans vote hundreds, if not thousands of times, so these awards have come to speak more to devotion than anything else, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I suppose. I'm not knocking the show--like I said, I used to watch it--however, I AM knocking the boys' choice of wardrobe. Sam seemed to be missing a lapel, and no matter what you call it, “maroon," “aubergine,” or “oxblood," Dean's was just plain ugly.

psymbe-jensen in is beautiful and stylish suit was in the top 20 best dressed for that night. i guess you just don't know fasion when you see it.

Their names are Jared and Jensen Pysmbe, they are real. Not Sam and Dean. You may have been 'joking' but get it right. They are people doing a job at the end if the day. And a damn fine one at that.

Thank you, tia and j2. I have to agree. I think Jensen looked pretty damn fine - I mean, how many men from that night got on a best-dressed list? Jared I think looked less fine, but ah well - in the end, they're still the actors who act in the show I love. And yes, their names are Jensen and Jared, but they do a very fine job being Sam and Dean.
Also, I'm aware that this show has a much smaller viewership, but the fans the show does have are dedicated, and in the end I think that matters more: a few passionate fans rather than lots of people who just watch the show, but then turn off the TV and forget about it. The writing may have gone downhill a bit, but it's still my show and I kind of want it to get some recognition. It's true most people at the PCAs probably didn't know Jensen and Jared: they don't go to a lot of these awards shows, so it was nice to see them appear and receive an award at one for once.

The show may not have the greatest # of viewers, but it does have viewers from all corners of the world, as is clear from reading the comments on Supernatural Face Book sites. I'm from here in the good old USA and just found the show within the last year. However, I'm proud to say I'm one of those VERY dedicated fans. And it was wonderful to see "the boys" be there to thank the fans for Supernatural being the PEOPLE's choice as favorite Sct-Fi program and having the greatest fans (SPN Family). Personally, I think all 4 of them looked marvelous. Congratulations to all those involved in making this the best show on TV & to the best fans/family.

^^what he said (and yes, commenting again). I know this show has fans as far as Australia and New Zealand, and passionate ones, too. It may be small, but it's so, so important and I know lots of people were SO excited about the boys' (and their wives') appearance at the awards. There was lots of keyboard smashing in my corner of the internet.

I am very happy for the J2, just deserts the prizes and they have deserved to gain that of better dramatic actor, both, jensen and jared. Probably let's be small the fans but we are a very close family and because of it we are stronger than the others. I dawned on my keyboard voting and requesting to all my contacts that vote for SPN. A small fan and his family we follow them from the first season from Paraguay in South America.

well, i hate to say it, but i do sort of agree with psymbe about their clothes. i thought for sure they would rock those awards in really classy suits like Matt Bomer had on! Jensen and Jared could have worn their FBI suits and looked better. i still love em both tho, especially jared.

I dunno, I find black suits kind of boring. I mean, they look nice sometimes but a lot of the time at awards shows they come off as really unremarkable to me. I'm glad Jensen went for something a bit more interesting.
And wow...Paraguay! I always love to hear from fans of Supernatural outside the US. Being an American, I get such a different perspective on the show than you probably do, because the show is so interested in "Americanness" and obviously you're going to get a different perspective of that than I am. It just makes me happy to hear of a fan from so far away who still loves the show.
