Simpsons Settle With Voices

We mentioned a few weeks ago thatthe voice actors for the Simpsons went on strike for more money and a cut of the action.

The situation was resolved Friday, although fewtails about the settlement were revealed:

The ensemble voice cast of Fox's hit animated comedy "The Simpsons" has inked a new four-year deal with the show's producer, after going on strike about a month ago in the midst of contract negotiations.

Dan Castallaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer and Yeardley Smith will return to work next week.

"We couldn't be happier to have reached a multiyear deal with the enormously talented cast of 'The Simpsons," producer 20th Century Fox TV said in a statement late Friday. "Fans will be pleased to know that despite our recent production delay, we are optimistic that they can look forward to a full season's episodes next year on Fox, and hopefully many years to come." [Hollywood Reporter]

I'll be very interested to hear if the voice actors got a piece of the action, or just a substantial raise.

Tonight Homer confronts Springfield's evildoers in the form of his crime-fighting alter-ego, the Pie Man.
