So I'm watching Jake 2.0 about a geek who is an under-agent for the Amerika state security agency. He's all horny to join the state security overmind. And he gets these computer bugs, but doesn't get laid.
Then, in the second scene, while going home, Jake is walking through a park, and I think, hey, that looks familiar, and then, in the background a Red Rocket goes by. Holy crap, Washington is being played by Toronto. I mean we had robo-cop, and Cronenberg lives here, but having USAian info-porn being made here in my home town, I don't know how to react.
As for the programme itself, it is just the "Nick Burns" skit from SNL done as a series. But without the snark.
Update:
As I watch the rest of the show, I see external scenes which are University Avenue, King and John Street, and down on Lake Ontario. Now why didn't they just use one of Cory Doctorow's scenarios set in Canada? Oh, yeah, that's because USAians don't believe anything exists outside of the States.
