Review: The OC Episode 3.3

Part of: The OC

Seth and Summer are sharing their misery on how horrible it is that Ryan and Marissa are kicked out of school. However, Ryan and Marissa think it will be ok, but both are called home promptly. Sandy thinks Ryan should stop seeing Marissa for a bit so he can start thinking about himself. Julie tells Marissa her sister’s boarding school has agreed to take her, but agrees Marissa can stay home if she doesn’t see Ryan. I think Julie Cooper has something else up her sleeves though, like moving to Hawaii.

The sleazy new dean is blaming Seth and Summer for Marissa crashing the carnival. And some creepy relationship between Taylor—the enthusiastic social chair—and the dean has him trying to black mail them into being stage hands for the school’s performance of South Pacific. Taylor even lets loose on Summer and Seth trying to make them feel little. When Summer tries to defend them, the dean conveniently steps in and slaps them with a threat.

Kirsten tells Sandy she has seen Charlotte on the verge of relapse. Sandy thinks something fishy is going on—what a smart guy! But he remains supportive and faithful towards Kirsten. Charlotte tries to convince Kirsten not to go to the reading of her father’s will.

Seth and Ryan are trying to figure out how Ryan and Marissa can stay together. Summer is also sharing her resistance to Marissa’s move. I have a feeling something is going to go wrong with Jimmy Cooper to prevent them from moving.

Julie, Jimmy, Sandy, and Kirsten were all present for the reading of the will. Kirsten and Julie were supposed to get the same amount, but alas, Caleb was broke. However, Caleb sent his lawyer a letter to give to Kirsten.

She storms off thinking Charlotte was right and she should never have shown up. Being the skanky creep that she is, Charlotte blames this on Sandy. Kirsten buys a bottle of vodka and contemplates drinking. Charlotte turns out to be a bigger liar than I expected. But luckily Kirsten goes home to Sandy, having resisted the temptation to drink. She opens the letter with Sandy, to find an apology he wrote the day he died.

I've only started watching The OC three weeks ago and I'm addicted. I don't understand Charlotte's plans though. Is she trying to go after Sandy? Probably, but who knows with shows like this.
