Review: Gilmore Girls Fight Face

Part of: Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls opened tonight’s episode with Lorelai and Sookie admiring the house Luke bought while Sookie voices concern that Lorelai will bolt and pull a “Runaway Bride.” When discussing the home with Luke, Lorelai hesitates letting go of the home she has now. Luke picked up on this and brought a crew to examine what was necessary to build on to her home so they can live there.

We see Rory starting her community service with an orientation session. Her grandmother dropped her off while trying to tell her how to handle “other prisoners” and gives her lunch and cigarettes—to barter. I think it will take more than cigarettes to barter some community service friends for Rory. She even gets into a fight with another girl.

Everyone is asking Lorelai about Rory and what she is up to. She’s feeling lonely to some degree and gets a dog at a pet fair. Apparently she has had bad pet experiences so everyone shares their concern for the dog’s safety. But Lorelai has spent money to get everything for the dog, none of which he likes. We also learn of Luke’s disdain for dogs.

Rory is obviously bored living in the pool house. Her grandparents are constantly busy, so she is left to amuse herself. She tries speaking to the housekeeper in Spanish about her family, but Emily Gilmore catches her and puts a prompt end to that. Richard and Emily decide to help Rory get a job.

Rory went to visit Luke. Told him about her first day of community service, as a sly way of asking about her mother. Luke let the cat out of the bag that he and Lorelai are engaged. It catches her off guard that she and her mother have lost the relationship they had where they told each other everything and now she hears about her mom’s engagement from Luke. He realized it was a mistake and got mad at himself. He had to tell Lorelai, who got upset that Luke told Rory.

Next Week: Lorelai realizes she needs to fix her priorities with relationships.

Wow, you don't waste any time, do ya Erin?

I'm ashamed to admit I taped this episode, but I will watch it soon.

    That is all.

Nah, I don't waste time. It is also easy to type it up as I watch the show. The joys of laptops.
