FX's biggest hit Rescue Me was just renewed for a fourth season — hot off its first Emmy nomination for star Denis Leary a little over a week ago.
Variety says FX made the announcement Wednesday during the Television Critics Association press tour.
Angelina Jolie's next project is a movie called A Mighty Heart. In the film she'll play a widow of a murdered journalist that is desperately searching for her husband who was abducted and beheaded by militants in Pakistan in early 2002.
It was also announced earlier this week that Jolie would take part in the animated feature Kung Fu Panda, in which Nacho Libre funnyman Jack Black will also star. Jolie's next project to be released, which has already been filmed, is the CIA drama The Good Shepherd--Academy Award winner Matt Damon also stars.
Hugh Laurie, star of FOX drama House is being given a hefty pay raise.
When the new season of the Emmy and Golden Globe winning show starts up in the fall, Laurie will be paid $300,000 an episode.
I still don't understand how it's possible Laurie got stiffed this year with the Emmy nominations, especially since the show itself was nominated. It'd be like giving an Oscar to Erin Brockovich but snubbing Julia Roberts. She makes the movie, Laurie makes the show.
Desperate Housewives dreamy star James Denton has Teri Hatcher and Nicolette Sheridan pining for him in the hit show — but he’s flattered most of his fanmail is from gay men.
The 42-year-old sex symbol says he can figure out the majority of the mail he receives is written by amorous male admirers.
He says, “Most of my fan mail’s actually from gay men. I’m surprised I’ve become a pin-up, but it’s all very flattering. Sometimes they’re honest and tell me they’re men and sometimes I have to guess...
“I haven’t had any saucy presents or underwear yet, though!”
