Region 1 DVD Releases for 2nd August 2005 - Page 2

Part of: New DVDs

Common wisdom has the sequels granting diminishing returns, but never actually jumping the shark. Extras are tres cool, including cartoons, shorts, an episode of the television show, and a radio show with Loy and Powell. I'm not usually one to go in for price-taggery, but the cost here is unbeatable. You will never find this many discs, much less with extras, for less than what you'll see when you click on that photo of the cover.

The Cosby Show: Season 1

The season in which Bill worked through most of the material in Himself. Also, one of the few pre-naked-Lisa-Bonet-on-the-cover-of-Rolling-Stone-exiled-to-spin-off seasons. As soon as Family Ties comes out on DVD, you'll be able to re-create the classic NBC Thursday Night from the mid-to-late 80's (Cheers and Night Court are already out).

Here's the rest. If you like Claude Chabrol, keep an eye out cos' a crapload of his movies are coming out this week.

I'm intrigued by Stone cutting minutes from his fillm. Most director's cuts are longer, not shorter.

Great job on this, David -- very happy to see the franchise is in excellent hands post-Duke.

Thanks Eric B! And thanks to everyone who has been so supportive over the last few weeks, especially The Duke and Eric O. You've made me feel welcome.

And Walt, I don't know which is more impressive, that you know who Yatzpan is or that you read all the way to the end of this thing. Much obliged.
