Paul Devlin's Power Trip airs on many PBS stations Tuesday, January 25th (see the Independent Lens site on the film for local listings). I first saw it at the San Francisco International Film Festival when it played there in 2003.
The film chronicles how Piers Lewis, an employee of the American power company AES, tries to modernize Tablisi''s power system. Devlin made Slam Nation and works as an editor on music videos and sports programs like the Olympic Games, the Tour de France, and the Super Bowl, so this is not like your typical documentary on PBS. It has a driving soundtrack by Georgian bands. He also depicts the dangers journalists faced before Georgia's Rose Revolution.
A brief BBC interview with Devlin and a longer interview by JT Leroy.
