Popcorn Buckets Ready for Tonight's MTV Movie Awards

Part of: Awards Season Watch

The MTV Movie Awards are back! This is one of those awards ceremonies where youngsters see their faves stars and cannot hold their excitement about it. Teens and MTV viewers are the ones who choose who wins the popcorn bucket award or not. There's no Academy here, it's the audience who awards the best of the year in categories such as Best Kiss, Best Fight or Best Jaw Dropping Moment. The voting is still open, so you can still choose your favorite here

Jason Sudeikis replaces last year's host Aziz Ansari and will the man in charge of the jokes and the one who will keep the crowd entertained in between awards. Sudeikis is a Saturday Night Live alum, so that should be reason enough to confirm that a good laugh and fun will be served. Here you can see one of the different promos of the award show where Sudeikis is interacting with some of the nominees and getting them ready for what's coming tonight.

The biggest honour of the night, the MTV Generation Award, will go to Reese Witherspoon because she has proven to be a very talented actress (she's an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner) and the main star of several blockbusters such as Legally Blonde and more recently, Water for Elephants. Ms. Witherspoon will be the second actress to receive this honor, and will join the list of past winners that include Ben Stiller, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and Sandra Bullock.

The big winner of the night is expected to be The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with six nominations (Best Kiss, Best Fight, Best Breakout Star, Best Female Performance, Best Male Performance and Best Movie) but I believe that Natalie Portman's performance in Black Swan or James Franco's performance in 127 Hours will not be forgotten.
